Old Chang Kee Has Steamed Curry Chicken Bao Exclusively At Tanjong Pagar And Raffles Place

Old Chang Kee Curry Chicken Bao

Old Chang Kee, known for its curry puffs and finger foods, has constantly surprised us with its innovative curry puff flavours such as the Hae Bee Hiam Chicken Puff, Salted Egg Yolk Orh Nee Puffs, Camou Curry Puffs and more. Unfortunately, all of these flavours are seasonal and are no longer available.

But here’s a piece of good news: Old Chang Kee has recently launched a never-seen-before curry puff—Curry Chicken Bao ($1.60)and this time it seems like it’s here to stay! You can only find this curry bao in Tanjong Pagar, at Old Chang Kee Coffee House, and Raffles Place at Change Alley Mall (#B1-33).

The Curry Chicken Bao features the same curry puff filling as the Curry’O, but wrapped in a bao skin, with pleats to resemble the traditional deep-fried curry puff. Instead of a fried-to-golden-brown puff pastry, these are steamed. They’re a great alternative if you’re health-conscious and craving a taste of a delicious curry puff!

For more steamed items, check out Old Chang Kee’s Steam OnStik series, where you can find guilt-free finger foods options such as Chicken & Seafood Siew Mai ($1.90 for two), Har Gao ($1.90 for two), Chives Dumplings ($1.90 for two) and many more. Do note that these are only available at the Tanjong Pagar outlet.

If you didn’t already know, Old Chang Kee has opened three coffee house outlets around Singapore, with Tanjong Pagar being their latest store. Unlike the classic kiosk station where you can grab a quick snack, Old Chang Kee’s coffee houses offer an extensive menu with a wide selection of home-cooked dishes, sides, desserts, and beverages. Moreover, you can dine in and enjoy your meal in an old-school setting for a taste of nostalgia.

If you’re dining in, try Old Chang Kee’s signature Flower Bread Curry Chicken ($11.90+), or the crowd favourite, Blue Pea Nasi Lemak ($8.50+).
