When I do visit NTU, my friends who stay in hall often recommend that I try some of their go-to comfort food stalls. I know how important good food offerings are to them, especially since they have to stay there throughout the week. However, not a lot of them know about Pen & Inc, a Western fusion restaurant located on the campus that offers a different kind of dining experience.

This restaurant is located on the corner of a school block. They specialise in a mix of Southwestern and Tex-Mex-inspired dishes. While the food prices here are considered steep for campus food, you’ll get to enjoy the classy ambience that’s sure to be a pleasant break from the rigour of school life. Plus, they have a bar here, so you can also get craft beers and cocktails. If you happen to be here on a Wednesday night, you can even catch their resident band performing live music.

For mains, go for their premium Wagyu Burger ($24++) that stars a grilled Wagyu beef patty, sandwiched between aged cheddar cheese, gherkins, fresh tomatoes, and lettuce, served with a side of fries. Alternatively, for a rich and creamy dish, try their Tom Yum Prawn Risotto ($22++), which is topped with parmesan cheese.

If you prefer something with chicken, they have Peri Chicken ($20++), which sees a boneless chicken thigh that’s been marinated with spices and peri peri sauce, grilled till tender, and served alongside kimchi coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Otherwise, they also have Mentaiko Salmon ($25++) that’s served with chuka wakame and grilled king oyster mushrooms.

For any main dishes you get, you can also top up $2++ to add on the soup or dessert of the day. Do note that this promotion only runs from 11am to 3pm.

Their popular alcoholic drinks include Strawberry Margarita ($16++) and Mojito ($14++). If you want non-alcoholic options, they have a tangy and refreshing Passion Fruit Iced Tea ($8++), Peach Iced Tea ($8++) and more.

If NTU’s out of the way for you, Pen & Inc also has delivery options. Spend above $50 to get free islandwide delivery. Otherwise, you can also visit their other outlet located in One North.
