Jia He, a refined Chinese restaurant with two branches at Connexion and One Farrer Hotel, has a comprehensive selection of dishes to cover all your reunion dinner needs, whether dine-in or takeaway. Their dine-in menus start at $1188++ for 10 people for lunch, and are available from 5 January to 12 February.
For those dining at home, consider Jia He’s Blissful Harvest Buffet Box, priced at $688+, feeding 10 to 15. Unlike your usual reunion dinner sets, which feature main courses, Jia He chooses to spotlight dim sum artfully crafted by the restaurant’s Master Chefs, alongside Steamed Rice with Chinese Sausage in Claypot and Roasted Crispy Duck. You get 20 pieces of over six types of dim sum, steamed and fried, sweet and savoury. Each order of this set also entitles you to a complimentary Smoked Salmon Yusheng for your lo hei needs.

No reunion dinner feast is complete without Chinese New Year’s symbolic dishes, from yusheng to pen cai. These staples bring wishes for abundance and prosperity to the table, setting you up for a new year of good fortune. However, they are often tedious to prepare, and takeaway options can be pricey—not at Kuriya Japanese Market, though. The brand has launched a series of Abundance Bundles featuring a selection of classic dishes that you only need to reheat. Plus, a la carte items start at an affordable price of $19.80!
There are four bundles to choose from, along with two Treasure Pot options. Bundles combine yusheng with any of their CNY Delights dish for sharing, while the Treasure Pots are Kuriya Japanese Market’s version of pen cai. Prices start at $118.80 for the former, which gets you their Blessings Yusheng along with a tender Arima Sansho Pork Knuckle or Oyster with Black Sea Moss & Roasted Pork, which make for excellent centrepieces on the table. The most expensive bundle will only set you back $138.80, and comprises the same yusheng with a juicy, moreish Abalone Stuffed Roast Chicken or Golden Salmon Abundance.
Their premium Japanese Treasure Pot ($268), a pen cai that feeds up to six, is another must-order. This is Kuriya Japanese Market’s headliner dish year after year, and it’s easy to see why. Each pot is loaded with premium seafood, including whole abalones, sashimi-grade scallops, and snow crab legs, painstakingly simmered in a superior stock for hours. Families having smaller reunion dinners can order the Petite Treasure Pot (from $19.80) instead, which stars similar ingredients in single servings.

Mott 32 is world-renowned for its dim sum, but this Chinese New Year, they’re pulling out all the stops with a Chinese New Year Menu inspired by the Year of the Snake. Priced at $238++ per person with a minimum of four guests, the 10-course set menu here is power-packed with mouthwatering Mott 32 signatures, from whole roast meats to seafood.

The meal starts with your customary yusheng for lo hei, before moving into platters of roast meat. You also get a taste of the restaurant’s crowning jewel as part of the set—their 42-day applewood-roasted duck, served in rolls topped with caviar. A whole Braised Boston Lobster and Steamed Garoupa Fillet follow. The meal ends on two sweet notes, with pan-fried nian gao and double-boiled bird’s nest to close.

Zi char restaurant Yu Cun Curry Fish Head has four different CNY set menus available to feed gatherings of all sizes. Prices start at $398++ for their Set A, which serves six, and go up to $898++ for 10 diners. Whichever set you pick, you’re guaranteed a range of homely dishes made with “auspicious” ingredients, from fish maw to abalone.
Additionally, any order of a set gets you a 15% discount on their pen cai should you wish to add the stew to your meal. Normally priced at $298++, the set is chock full of premium seafood simmered in a superior broth.
Note that sets require a $100 deposit and an advance pre-order of at least one day for sets A and B, and three days for sets C and D. All are available from now till 12 February.

For a CNY reunion dinner at home that feels like you’re dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, order Shoukouwa’s Premium Lunar New Year Seafood Box. Meticulously curated by the head chef of the two Michelin-starred restaurant, Kazumine Nishida, each box feeds eight diners across its eight different types of seafood.

This year, the restaurant franchise offers three different Chinese New Year Set Menus, designed to suit different group sizes. Their Celebration Set C is the most affordable option, feeding three people for $168+. The set comes with nine different dishes, including the restaurant’s Prosperity Smoked Salmon Yusheng and their Signature Herbal Roast Duck. Other family-style dishes come with the set, including Slow-Braised Pork Ribs and Steamed Fish Slices With Soy Sauce.
Their other dine-in sets, Abundance Set A (from $268+) and Blessings Set B (from $218+), turn the dial up with more extravagant dishes, ranging from whole steamed fish to scallops. Sets can be scaled up to meet your group size if you’ve got a larger family.
