Samy’s Curry is nestled in the lush surroundings of Dempsey Road, attracting patrons from all corners of the island. Guests love their signature dishes, namely the legendary Masala Chicken, Fish Head Curry, Fish Cutlet, and Mysore Mutton, all crafted from secret spice blends passed down by their late founder, Mr. M. Veerasamy.
Samy’s Curry serves authentic Indian fare on banana leaves, embodying the true South Indian dining experience. Every customer who orders a rice set ($4.50+ for white rice, $5+ for biryani) enjoys free-flow rice, complemented by papadum, vegetables, and curry. This set is available as a top-up, as long as a main dish is ordered.
When you visit Samy’s Curry, be sure to indulge in their signature Fish Head Curry, a highly acclaimed dish priced at $25+ for a small, $30+ for a medium, and $35+ for a large serving. If the portions are too generous, you can opt for a single portion of Curry Fish at just $5.50+ per piece.
For a delightful treat, try their fish cutlet, available for $2.50+ per piece—this dish comes highly recommended by the chef! Seafood lovers should not miss the Sambal Prawn ($7+), Masala Flower Crab ($12+), and Curry Squid ($15+). And don’t overlook the Black Squid ($15+), another chef’s favourite that is sure to impress!
Alternatively, try the Curry Mutton ($16+), another must-order dish at Samy’s Curry. If you’re in the mood for something different, consider the Masala Chicken ($7+), Chicken Tikka 65 ($15+), or the Mysore Mutton ($16+), which is a classic dish from Mysore that features mutton drenched in an onion and tomato sauce, spiced with ginger, garlic, and red chilli peppers. For a vegetarian option, the Cauliflower 65 ($12+) is a standout choice that’s also worth a shot.
No Indian meal is complete without naan, and Samy’s Curry offers an enticing selection. Choose from five delicious flavours: Plain ($3.50+), Butter ($4+), Garlic ($4.50+), Cheese ($4.80+), Kashmiri ($4.80+), as well as Garlic Butter ($4.80+). If you’re feeling indecisive, opt for the Basket Naan ($16+), which includes an assortment of the first five flavours. It’s perfect for sharing or enjoying a variety of flavours in one go!
Samy’s Curry sits right at the entrance of Dempsey Hill, just two bus stops away from Napier MRT Station.
