Sin Kee Chicken Rice (Margaret Drive) reopens in Ubi

Margaret Drive Sin Kee Chicken Rice is a famous stall that many avid chicken rice fans will know of. Following the passing of Mr. Leong, the stall’s late owner, his two sons have been involved in continuing the legacy of the brand—they recently reopened Sin Kee Chicken Rice (Margaret Drive) in Ubi. The stall is currently headed by Niven, one of Mr. Leong’s sons, who took a break from the culinary world for about three years.

There are currently seven branches under Sin Kee’s name, but only some share a connection to the original establishment. Margaret Drive Chicken Rice, for example, is a stall at Holland Drive that’s manned by Mr. Leong’s other son, Benson.

Back to the stall in Ubi: rest assured that the chicken rice here is of standard as Niven uses the OG chicken rice recipe passed down from his late father. Get the 1 Person Set ($6), which comes with a plate of chicken rice as well as a side and vegetable of the day. Do note it costs an additional $1 for the non-breast meat option!

If the set doesn’t fill you up, you can substitute your meal with their add-ons. These include a Side of the Day ($0.80), Soup of the Day ($1.80), and Vegetable of the Day ($0.80). There’s also the option of adding more meat, from $3 for breast meat and $5 for non-breast meat.

The stall is nestled at Recess Time @ Ubi, a food court situated nine minutes away from Ubi MRT Station by foot.
