Chinese New Year reunion dinners can be stressful to plan and cook for. Those of us who’ve toiled over multi-course meals will know that by the time the food’s done, you’re so tired that you don’t feel like feasting with the fam anymore. Start your dragon year on the right note by opting to have your reunion dinner or Chinese New Year (CNY) feasts catered by the likes of Stamford Catering instead, to save you the fuss.
Stamford Catering is known for having a wide variety of catering solutions to suit all CNY gatherings and group sizes, whether it be an intimate family reunion dinner or a larger office party. Options include multi-dish reunion dinner menus, larger buffet menus, and even bento sets. They’re also halal-certified, ideal for inclusive CNY meals.Â
If you have a reunion dinner with a family size of eight to 10, consider their CNY Customised Bundle. There’s a minimum order of $300++ required, and you get to pick from a comprehensive range of Stamford Catering’s CNY signatures, from yusheng to claypot dishes, pen cai to desserts. There are five categories to pick from, and you can order as many different dishes as you want.
Yusheng is a CNY must-have, so kick off the festivities right by choosing the Auspicious Lobster Yu Sheng ($118.80+) in your bundle.
This comes with all your usual yusheng trimmings, a zesty plum sauce, and lobes of sweet lobster meat. They only use live lobsters to ensure freshness and quality. You’ll definitely win the favour of the fam by ordering this!
The Customised Bundle also includes your pick of pen cai. Prices start at $58+ for their vegetarian Prosperity Treasure Pun Choy, but we say go big and order the Fortune Abalone Imperial Pun Choy ($198+).
This indulgent seafood stew is packed with huge prawns, sea cucumber, fish maw, shiitake mushrooms, and most importantly, rounds of juicy abalone.
Aside from the reunion dinner classics, the Customised Bundle also lets you have your pick of Chinese dishes to enjoy with the fam. We recommend the following dishes.
The Lotus Roots with Shrimp Paste ($28+) tastes like har cheong gai wings, albeit with crispy lotus root instead.
While steamed fish is a CNY staple, we suggest going for the unorthodox, but no less delicious Grilled Salmon Fillet with Spicy Passion Fruit Sauce ($75+), where beautifully cooked pieces of salmon are dressed in a sweet-sour passionfruit sauce that’s lightly spicy too.Â
All these dishes are available to order as part of the other bundles and buffet menus Stamford Catering has, as well as a la carte.Â
Beyond what we’ve highlighted, the caterer also has menus that can feed parties of all sizes, from just $23++ per person! For example, their Joyous Spring Buffet feeds upwards of 30 people, and is priced from $28+ per person. Highlights include the Oven Roasted Lemon Lavender Whole Chicken with Peach Salsa—juicy, and perfumed with citrus and floral lavender. Dip these in the accompanying salsa for a sweet-sour finish.Â
Stamford Catering’s Chinese New Year menus are available to order now, for delivery between 24 January to 9 March.
BTW, if you order any of their CNY menus online before 28 January 2024 and use the code ‘GOLDENEATBOOK’, you get a free 10-piece Golden Pumpkin Croquette! This promo is while stocks last. Each order is entitled to one complimentary dish per address.Â
