Update:Â Starker is now permanently closed.
Your TGIF plans are all set from now until February, as Starker will be giving away 600 half-pints of Ale every Friday at 6pm, from 22 Dec 2017 to 2 Feb 2018. All you need to do is like Starker’s Facebook page to try out the new beer without purchasing anything!
We assure you that once you have a sip of the full-bodied beer, you will def’ call for more. Starker’s vibrant-coloured ale is luscious and not at all hoppy, in comparison to other ales elsewhere. As you take a sip, your palate will be flooded with a mild fruity note that’s more refreshing than sweet. The finish is crisp and bright, enticing you to chug the entire mug down.
We all know beer tastes best fresh. So Starker employs a 7-day shelf-life policy on all their beers, ensuring you will never have to encounter a bad, flat beer.
Here are the details on when and where to get your free beer:
22 Dec 2017: Starker Q Jurong
29 Dec 2017: Starker Q Punggol
5 Jan 2018: Starker Signature Holland Village
12 Jan 2018: Starker Bistro Katong Square
19 Jan 2018: Starker Music Zhongshan Park
26 Jan 2018: Starker Bistro HillV2
2 Feb 2018: Starker Signature Tanjong Pagar Centre
Bear in mind that the free beer only starts at 6pm! Click here for the full address of each outlet. Â
If you’re feeling peckish, Starker is known to dish out a selection of scrummy eats too!
A fail-safe munchie to go with your beer is their signature Starker Pork Belly ($16.80) featuring a generous portion of crackling pork belly, along with sauerkraut.
Vinegary French mustard is served on the side too, helping layer the tender fatty parts and give the simple dish an additional oomph.
If you’re tipsy from all the booze, their Minced Pork Ramen With Egg (Dry) ($6.80) is sure to wake you up, thanks to its accompanying spicy dried shrimp sambal that packs a punch. Tossed together in traditional black vinegar, the springy ramen is also crowned with marinated ground pork, braised sliced mushroom, meatballs and an onsen egg.
The meatball has a nice creamy pork filling, similar to a Fuzhou fishball. Except the exterior is also made of meat, not fish paste.
Only available at the Jem outlet is the Laksa Prawn Pasta ($15.80). The dish was an aromatic composition of slight tamarind tartness, herby laksa leaf flavour, as well as a slight hint of spiciness. The prawns were uber fresh too, and gave the dish a nice umami touch.
If you want to save on service charge, be sure to head to Starker Q at Jem and Punggol. But if service is top priority when you’re out for a meal, you will love the helpful waitstaff stationed at the other five Starker outlets.
Spread the love and remember to hashtag #alejoinsstarker when you’re there! Do note that the 600 half-pint beers are only limited to one per customer per day, although you are more than welcome to visit all seven locations every Friday until February!
