Swensen’s Launches 1KG “Gold Bar” Ice Cream Cake This CNY For Extra Huat

Swensen’s has “gold bar” ice cream cake for a limited time

Swensen’s has never shied away from creating unique ice cream cakes—so far, we’ve seen a nasi lemak ice cream cake as part of their Ramadan specials, and even a mala “fried chicken” ice cream for April Fool’s Day. This time, the family restaurant chain is celebrating Chinese New Year 2026 with a limited-time “gold bar” ice cream cake.

The Giant Gold Bar ($88) is a luxurious 1kg treat that’s crafted to perfection. The treat features Sticky Chewy Chocolate and Creme Brulee ice cream encased in a hard caramelised sugar shell, dusted with edible golden powder.

We liked that each bite gave us two ice cream flavours at once. The Sticky Chewy Chocolate boasts a rich, creamy chocolate base with bits of gooey caramel for a textural contrast, while the Creme Brulee is similar to vanilla custard, just a little sweeter and smoother.

If you’re wondering why the cake is so familiar, it’s probably because Swensen’s launched something similar in 2025. It was named Lucky Knock Knock Gold Bar, featuring two 200g “gold bar” pieces with Sticky Chewy Chocolate ice cream.

While the 2025 dessert was designed to be cracked open, The Giant Gold Bar cake can be effortlessly sliced, making it easy to share with your family and friends.

We’re sure this gold bar ice cream cake will steal the spotlight at any CNY gathering, as it’s both delicious and one-of-a-kind.

The limited-time cake won’t be around for long, so be sure to place your order soon. Keep an eye on the Instagram page and official website for the latest updates or special announcements.
