Swensen’s Has New Mala “Fried Chicken” Ice Cream In Time For April Fool’s Day

Swensen’s has new mala “fried chicken” ice cream for a limited time only

Swensen’s has a new “fried chicken” ice cream flavour. Previously, you may have seen their “nugget” ice cream or the nasi lemak ice cream cake. Now, they are making a Mala “Fried Chicken” Ice Cream so you can prank your friends this April Fool’s Day! This fun addition to any party is only available for a limited time from 28 March 2024.

Like the previous “fried chicken” ice cream, this one also comes in a box that looks like your classic fried chicken takeaway! This costs $47 for eight pieces. But if you just want a taste of these mala “fried chicken” ice cream, get them in a pint at $12.90 for two pieces.

The ice cream itself was covered with cereal to resemble fried chicken drumsticks coated in breadcrumbs. The exterior of the ice cream was also seasoned with mala spices that gave the first bite an extra numbing kick. Spice-wise, it somewhat reminded us of the xiao la level at a mala xiang guo stall.

The interior of this “fried chicken” was Swensen’s vanilla ice cream! As we continued eating it, the spice from the cereal crumbs lingered, making it an interesting accompaniment to the sweet vanilla ice cream. There was also a cookie “bone” within for added crunch!

Get this bizarre yet fun combination from all Swensen’s and Earle Swensen’s outlets in Singapore. You can also get them on their website and delivery apps.
