We Found Another Tampines Void Deck Ramadan Bazaar, Most Items Under $10

Bazaar Ramadan at Block 301 is Tampines’ second void deck bazaar

Good news for Tampines residents! This Ramadan season, you will get to enjoy not one, but two bazaars in the estate. Besides the popular Fiesta Makanan Di Bazaar Ramadhan Tampines Central at Block 863 Tampines Parkview, you will also be able to find another void-deck bazaar at Block 301 Tampines Street 32.

Organised by Tampines Changkat Community Club, the Bazaar Ramadan runs till 19 March, lasting from 3pm to 7pm daily. Reading through online comments, many have pointed out that some of the stalls tend to sell out by around 5pm, so it’s best to head down early.

The bazaar’s popularity was evident from the buzzing and lively atmosphere that greeted us when we arrived at the void deck at about 4pm. Right off the bat, we noticed that the lineup leaned slightly more niche than your typical Ramadan bazaar, while still featuring a solid mix of classic crowd favourites.

Amid growing discussions about bazaar food prices, one of the first things that caught our eye was the wallet-friendly shawarmas from Egypt Mr Shawerma. We chose their Beef Shawarma ($6) over the Chicken Shawarma ($5), which comes with a choice of Cheese BBQ, Garlic, or Creamy Onion sauce.

Unfortunately, the beef chunks were a bit drier than expected, but the creamy onion sauce we chose added a pleasant tang and tied the other components of the wrap together nicely. All in all, it still offered excellent value, in addition to an option to grab three wraps for just $12.

Another dish that intrigued us was Home of Seafood’s Upeh and its traditional presentation. You could choose between hor fun or beef noodles, along with the option of seafood or beef as your protein. We went for the Beef Hor Fun ($10) and were glad that the noodles, wrapped in an Opeh leaf, were kept separate from the large container of gravy, ensuring they did not get soggy.

The hor fun had a nice, silky texture, and the beef came in generous chunks. However, we were disappointed that the gravy was lukewarm, likely having sat out on the counter for some time. Its robust flavours were still there, but it would have been far more comforting if served hotter.

For dessert, we went for a box of Saudagar Kerabu’s Bombolonis ($10). This proved to be great value, with the airy and fluffy pastry generously filled. However, the overly thick sugar coating on the outside made them slightly cloying, which left us hoping for a more balanced sweetness.

To cool ourselves down, Balang SG’s Ice Solero ($5) was a refreshing option—light and fruity, perfect for beating the stuffiness of the void deck.

For other food options, Selera Sumang offers a satisfying selection of Nasi Padang and Javanese dishes, including Nasi Ambeng, Nasi Rawon, and other rice sets. Alternatively, you can try Shakira’s flavourful briyani such as Briyani Ayam ($8), Briyani Lamb ($9), and Briyani Udang ($10) for a hearty meal.

Like any bazaar, the offerings here can be a hit or miss, but we still recommend you come down to soak in the lively atmosphere. There’s something special about a bazaar set under a void deck with its community-driven charm—and here, you will likely discover offerings that are different from the usual run-of-the-mill options.
