6 Low-Key Tampines West Dining Spots For All Budgets Including A KTV Cafe And IG-Worthy Prata

Tampines West dining spots at SAFRA Tampines

Despite being filled with numerous popular eateries, Tampines still has a few hidden gems. One of them is SAFRA Tampines. This family-friendly recreational club comes with plenty of exciting facilities such as an Olympic-sized swimming pool, karaoke studio, and a gym. Besides these facilities, it’s also home to six hidden Tampines West dining spots serving the likes of Eggs Ben prata, avo’ toasts and more!

1. 7th Heaven KTV & Café

7th Heaven KTV & Café has a unique concept, combining a fully equipped karaoke studio with a cosy cafe. Diners can choose to enjoy their meal at the comfortable booth seats, or in the soundproof karaoke studio while belting out their favourite hits.

There are sharing platters and individual main dishes to choose from, but we’re particularly fans of their Salted Egg Chicken Burger ($17.90++). It combines a large juicy piece of whole chicken thigh that’s dipped in buttermilk and fried to a golden crisp. A creamy house-made salted egg sauce is drizzled all over the chicken, making it a real indulgent treat. To enjoy even more savings, be sure to flash your SAFRA card from now till 31 March 2020 when making your payment to enjoy 15% off any item on the menu! Those who are not SAFRA members can still enjoy a 10% discount by showing this article when making payment.

Unit number: #03-02
Opening hours: Mon-Thurs 3pm to 1am, Fri-Sat 11am to 3am, Sun 11am to 1am

2. Gin Khao Sino-Thai

Gin Khao Sino-Thai combines vibrant Thai cuisine and masterful Chinese techniques, resulting in tasty Sino-Thai dishes. There’s no MSG used in the cooking, and the seafood is sourced daily from Jurong Fishery Port for optimum freshness. SAFRA members stand to get 10% off by simply flashing their membership card.

The restaurant has come up with an exclusive set for March, serving up a trio of items that cannot be found on their a la carte menu. The Two Is Better Than One Set ($32.80+) features two plates of spicy tom yum seafood fried rice, a pair of Thai iced pearl milk tea, and two servings of red ruby with longan and coconut gelato. Take note that this value-for-money set is only available from now till 31 March 2020.

Unit number: #01-K2
Opening hours: Mon-Thurs 12pm to 3pm, 5pm to 10pm, Fri-Sun 12pm to 11pm

3. Bola Café

Bola Café is a halal-certified eatery which serves up comfort food such as mee siam and mee rebus at wallet-friendly prices. They’re also offering a 10% discount for SAFRA card holders, giving an additional reason to check out their dishes.

It’s also a good idea to bring a friend along as the store is offering a Buddy Meal ($8) from now till 31 March 2020. This value-for-money set meal lets you choose two items from nasi lemak, mee siam, mee rubus, and mee soto, along with two hot drinks. We got to try all of their mains, and were fans of the nasi lemak. The chicken wing that accompanied it was marinated with a robust spice blend and was also extra crispy.

Unit number: #01-15
Opening hours: Tue-Fri 8am to 8pm, Sat-Sun 9am to 8pm

4. Springleaf Prata Place

There are several Springleaf Prata Place outlets in Singapore, but the one at SAFRA Tampines is the most accessible for Easties. This busy prata house is nestled in a corner of the recreational club, and serves up unique prata dishes such as Salted Egg Prawn Prata ($11.90+), alongside classic favourites such as Egg Mushroom Cheese Prata ($4.70+). SAFRA card holders will also get 10% off.

There’s also a special promotion from now till 31 March 2020, where diners get to enjoy a cup of teh tarik or kopi tarik with any purchase from the Ultimate Hawkerfeast series. These innovative prata dishes are a Springleaf speciality, and look great on any Instagram feed. There are eight prata dishes to choose from, and the Plaster Blaster ($5.90+) is my personal favourite. This clever mix of eggs Benedict and prata marries tangy hollandaise sauce with fluffy prata for a surprisingly tasty combination.

Unit number: #01-K1
Opening hours: Daily 8am to 10pm. Closed on every first Monday of the month.

5. Sarpino’s Pizza

While Sarpino’s Pizza usually specialises in home delivery, they also have an outlet at SAFRA Tampines that houses seats for diners to enjoy their wallet-friendly pizza fresh out of the oven. Make sure to bring along a SAFRA card as there’s a 10% discount for all cardholders.

The You & Me Set ($18) gives diners two regular-sized pizzas and two canned drinks. This set is great for sharing between two people, and also bags up a decent amount of savings. Buying the items separately would cost $32.70. Those who’re still feeling peckish after the hearty pizzas can go for the Chicken Wings ($9.90), which are coated with a piquant chilli sauce.
