Despite the slew of new Taiwanese bubble tea shops popping up all over Singapore, Telok Ayer and its surrounding area have been relatively untouched. Well, all thatās about to change, thanks to the opening of The Moment éäøå».
Hailing from the Zhongli District in Taiwan, the chain has launched their first Singapore store at Telok Ayerāto the delight of CBD workers everywhere. Here, you can expect the usual suspects of fruit tea and milk teas, all of which are pretty affordable, with the most expensive drink costing under $8!

However, what sets them apart from other chains is their signature The Moment Grey Milk Tea (from $5.80). Boasting dazzling gradients of asphalt grey, the drink features bamboo charcoal mixed with natural fresh milk. Taste-wise, its sweetness is said to be on the subtle side with hints of smokiness.Ā
Reviews online seem pretty mixed, with some praising the smooth taste and others wishing for a bolder flavour. I guess it all boils down to what youāre looking for in a cup of BBT.

If youāre a fan of more traditional flavours, perhaps their Matcha Latte will be right up your alley with its full-bodied and milky taste.

While youāre here, be sure to check out these Telok Ayer cafes which serve the likes of Philly cheesesteaks, cakes, and chicken schnitzel. Thereās even an aesthetic Peranakan cafe that looks straight out of the fifties!
