If I could live on bubble tea alone, I would. This is why every time I hear about BBT joints offering 1-for-1 deals, my ears perk up because I would legit drink two cups on my own. New on my radar is the popular bubble tea chain from China, The Whale Tea. Located at Lot One Shopping Mall in Choa Chu Kang, the BBT brand is offering 1-for-1 drinks from 18 to 20 Oct 2019.

Getting in on this deal is simple. All you gotta do is like the post on their Facebook page and tag two friends in the comments below. At the counter, simply flash the page to redeem your 1-for-1 bubble tea!

As with most deals, you will be charged for the higher-priced bubble tea ordered.

Without the 1-for-1 deal, queues can already stretch up to about an hour, so it’s best you avoid peak periods. What makes their bubble tea so special is their unique flavours, such as the Volcanic Sapphire Whale ($4.50). This IG-worthy drink features a gradient of vibrant blue, milky white and golden hue. The golden bottom is actually peach gum jelly, which is said to be good for your skin.

Personally, I feel that the peach gum jelly doesn’t give the same chewy satisfaction as ‘em QQ pearls. So if you love BBT for the boba, we recommend skipping this.

If you want to feel less guilty about drinking BBT, opt for their Brown Sugar Avocado ($6.80) or Strawberry Cheezo Milk ($6.50). The former comprises real avocado flesh and brown sugar pearls. It’s extremely decadent and reminds me of Bali’s famous avocado shakes.
