Le Cafe Confectionary and Pastry is a Singaporean brand specialising in old-school cakes and treats. Their Beancurd Tarts ($10 for eight pieces) are available daily after 12:30pm and has the light dessert encased in a thin, buttery crust. Aptly named Mr Bean ($23+), Jekyll & Hyde makes this cocktail with a blend of beancurd, vodka, butterscotch liqueur, kaya and frangelico. Previously known as ‘Beanstalk’, Nine Fresh Desserts Taiwan now has over 10 outlets in Singapore. Nine Fresh Signature ($2.50) is assembled with beancurd, grass jelly, red beans, green beans, pinto beans, taro balls and roasted or soft peanuts. Don’t be fooled by its price tag, the dessert is so legit it has reminded some of the ones in Taiwan!
