24-hour convenience stores were everything to me when I was a student. I frequented my school’s 7-Eleven and constantly looked forward to trying new items that hit the shelves. So when I heard that there was a new range of Dolce Italia desserts from Italy, I knew I had to give them a try.
This 7-Eleven exclusive series includes three desserts: Dolce Italia Tiramisu, Dolce Italia Tartufo, and Dolce Italia Panna Cotta. These are priced at $3.50 each, but you can also get all three for $9.50 for a limited time. Do note that these desserts have alcohol in them.
If you love pudding-like desserts, go for the Panna Cotta. The jiggly custard is silky and smooth, with a strong caramel-vanilla flavour. This is a good pick if you don’t enjoy chocolate-forward desserts like the other two in the series.
But if you do relish in chocolate desserts, the Tartufo is just the right thing. The indulgent treat consists of a rich and bittersweet chocolate mousse with a creamy vanilla centre that complements it perfectly.Â
Else, there is also the classic Tiramisu: layers of coffee-infused sponge cake and cream, dusted with cocoa powder. My colleague and I enjoyed this tiramisu a lot—we ended up polishing off the container!Â
We got our desserts from the 7-Eleven at Plaza Singapura but they are also available at most outlets in Singapore.
ICYMI, 7-Eleven also has freshly-blended fruit smoothies just like the ones you would find at convenience stores in Japan! In other news, if you love all things matcha, you can get your hands on the viral banana pudding matcha from Haus Coffee, a hidden cafe cum thrift store at Golden Mile Tower.Â
