Berry Bar’s Kyo Kohee pop-up has matcha-coated strawberries

Berry Bar, the crew that brought the London-famous chocolate-coated strawberries to Singapore, now has matcha chocolate-coated strawberries! Grab them at their most recent pop-up, at popular Japanese cafe Kyo Kohee in Tanjong Pagar.

Get The Viral Chocolate-Coated Strawberries From London At Woodleigh Mall

The pop-up runs from now till 8 March 2025, meaning there are only a few days left to get your hands on these treats. We loved the chocolate-covered berries at their 2024 pop-up, so we hurried down to give their matcha rendition a try. 

If you’re settling on just the strawberries, there are three sizes to choose from: mini ($5), regular ($15), and large ($20). Otherwise, there is also the option to get a mixed cup of strawberries and bananas, which comes in just two sizes, regular ($14) and large ($18). 

We got the regular sized cup for each flavour, which is great for sharing between two people. 

After your cup is filled with your choice of fruit, it gets a thick matcha-chocolate sauce drizzle. FYI: the matcha sauce is made with Kyo Kohee’s matcha powder, known for its premium quality. Then, you have the option of dressing your cup with two toppings for an additional $1. Pick from Fruity Pebbles, Biscoff crumbs, Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, and tiny marshmallows. 

Here’s what I thought about these matcha-drenched strawberries: the sweetness and tanginess of the fresh strawberries paired well with the subtle bitterness from the creamy matcha-and-white-chocolate sauce. Though I was hoping for the matcha notes to be more pronounced, it was a delicious dessert nevertheless. 

To my surprise, I liked the banana version equally, as the sweetness of the fruit balanced out the earthy tones of the matcha sauce.  

Though these desserts are on the pricey side, they are worth a try if you are a big fan of the matcha-strawberry combination!
