Matcha cafe girlies, there’s a new trend you’ll want to get in on. The banana pudding matcha latte, inspired by the famous Magnolia Bakery in New York, has been making its rounds all over social media lately! This viral drink stars a creamy and earthy matcha latte topped with a layer of house-made dessert pudding, which nods to Magnolia Bakery’s world-famous banana pudding: vanilla pudding layered with vanilla wafers and fresh bananas. Here are six cafes in Singapore to try this trendy beverage.
Sweedy Patisserie, a popular dessert cafe in Hougang, is said to be one of the first spots to offer the viral drink. Their new matcha menu stars the Banana Pudding Matcha ($9.80+), where an iced matcha latte is topped with a dollop of banana pudding. Their house-made banana pudding, which features banana slices, vanilla custard, whipped cream, and Biscoff crumbs, was thick and creamy, yet not too sweet. We recommend giving both layers a good mix for a well-balanced sip.
