If you’re hankering for a good ol’ slice of min jiang kueh in town, head to Bu Bu Gao Sheng Pancake, located along Neil Road. This humble hawker stall is popular for its soft and fluffy MJK that’s well-priced from just $1.20 a slice.

They offer freshly made min jiang kueh with lesser-seen fillings such as Matcha ($1.60) and Taro ($1.60). The former sees a dark green-hued cream filling with a subtle tea flavour, while the latter is a sweet, orh nee-inspired number.

There’s also a Salted Bean ($1.40) flavour, a classic sweet-and-salty combination, perfect for those who loe tau sar piah.

Those who enjoy old-school flavours should go for the Crunchy Peanut Butter ($1.40), a crowd favourite that sees min jiang kueh paired with an ooey gooey peanut butter middle. There’s also their Signature Coconut ($1.40) flavour, which features shredded, sweetened coconut flakes that are tinged a lovely light green.

Bu Bu Gao Sheng Pancake is situated in a small coffeeshop right at the junction along Neil Road, directly opposite Shake Shack. It’s a seven-minute walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station, and a five-minute walk from Outram Park MRT Station, making it the ideal location for office workers to pop by and grab a snack.

If you’re too lazy to leave the house, try making one of these easy min jiang kueh recipes at home instead! Alternatively, if you’re on the hunt for a halal-friendly option, check out Munchi Pancakes’ new Lau Pa Sat outlet for black sesame and Thai tea pancakes in the CBD.
