Carlton City Hotel Has $60++ Buffet Deal On 9 Aug, With Free-Flow Boston Lobster And Whole Roasted Pig

Plate at Carlton City Hotel has $60++ buffet on National Day

Singapore’s 60th birthday is right around the corner, and there’s no better excuse to treat yourself to an indulgent yet affordable feast. Carlton City Hotel’s Plate is going all out with a National Day Buffet featuring unlimited Boston lobster, roasted suckling pig, and a spread of local delights for just $60++, available only on 9 August.

This one-day promotion is a long way from the buffet’s usual price of $158++. That’s more than half off! You’ll be hard-pressed to find any other buffets offering such a selection at this price.

Aptly named “Sea and Grill”, the surf-and-turf international buffet puts fresh seafood and grilled meats in the spotlight, with a focus on local and Southeast-Asian fare. The spread includes over 35 dishes and features a salad bar, carving station, fresh seafood, grilled station and more.

In a meaningful community partnership, the buffet includes produce sourced from Mushroom Buddies, a local organisation providing employment in urban farming for people with intellectual disabilities.

Befitting the nation’s birthday, the buffet will welcome a new addition: a Whole Roasted Suckling Pig, a sight only seen at the grandest celebrations. Think crackling, crispy skin, tender meat, and savoury-sweet hoisin sauce accompanied by soft mantou buns. If that doesn’t make your mouth water, I don’t know what will.

You’ll also find other succulent meats at the carving station alongside the whole suckling pig. The Slow-Roasted Rib-Eye with Red Wine Sauce is a carnivore’s dream. Fill your belly with slices of tender steaks, roasted to a medium doneness.

I’m a sucker for aburi-style meats and seafood, hence my gravitation to the Aburi Salmon with Yuzu Mayo. The smoky, tender salmon had a melt-in-your-mouth quality that went oh-so-well with the sweet, tangy yuzu mayo.

Alongside that, look forward to a dazzling spread of seafood on ice that promises something for every preference. The Chilled Boston Lobsters here are gigantic and full of sweet flesh, while the Half-Shelled Scallops are plump with roe and accompanied by a tangy red wine dressing.

Don’t miss out on the Tiger Prawns, too, which are served whole and fresh. Shellfish lovers can also get their Pacific Clams and Green Lip Mussels.

The sashimi and Japanese selection includes unlimited Salmon and Tuna Sashimi, as well as an assortment of sushi and California Maki. A sushi lover’s heaven!

Expect an array of barbecue dishes to continue your feast, with chefs dishing out delectable offerings such as Grilled Sambal Squid, Thai-Style Pork Skewers, and Spicy Otah

Of course, don’t forget the selection of classic Singaporean dishes with a modern twist. Their Singapore Laksa is served à la minute, and is topped with shredded lobster, adding a lavish depth to the flavours that we know and love.

Chilli Crab is all the rage for SG60, so don’t leave out the iconic Singapore Chilli Crab Meat with Deep-fried Mantou, featuring juicy crab meat and a rich sauce that locals will find familiar and comforting.

Finally, round off the revelry with an array of local desserts, such as Teochew favourite Orh Nee, a DIY Ice Kachang and Chendol station, and another DIY Muah Chee station.

Remember: The $60++ buffet pricing is only available on 9 August, and seats are limited, so be sure to book your table early via the Plate website! Else, enjoy a 1-for-1 promotion on other days for Bank of China, Citibank, DBS/POSB, OCBC credit and debit cardholders.
