Among the ranks of famous cafes within CHIJMES is the bakery-cafe Dough. Another venture by owners of Glyph Supply Co, the cafe features a modern and posh interior. The floor-to-ceiling windows of The Glasshouse allow natural lighting to flood in, and when combined with the multiple potted plants, the ambience does live up to its name. Almost Famous at CHIJMES has a minimalist concept that not only applies to their interior but their food menu as well. Along with craft beer, they serve a range of unique bar bites. If you’re in the mood for spicy, try their Tom Yum Gyoza, which features a bed of fried dumplings with creamy tom yum sauce. If you love the aroma of truffles, go for the delectable Truffle Fries. Hvala at CHIJMES transports you right into a traditional Japanese tea house with its tatami seats and calligraphy paintings around the shop. Lumbre, a Spanish word that translates to “fire” in English, is a relatively new Spanish restaurant that whips up their dishes using an open wood-fire grill. Their weekday Set Lunch Menu ($35++), which is available from 12pm to 2.30pm on weekdays, is a reasonably priced deal for a fancy meal. It includes a starter, a main, dessert and coffee.
