We previously visited Kure Menya in Tanjong Pagar and thoroughly enjoyed the rich, collagen chicken broth of the ramen there. If youāve missed it since they shuttered, fret not, because theyāre back as DumPrince Dumpling House at Chinatown Point!
Where Kure Menya used to specialise in Japanese-style ramen and more, theyāve flipped to a new leaf, serving Chinese-style la mian and dumplings insteadāalbeit served with the same, signature collagen soup. As before, the ingredients used at DumPrice Dumpling House are all halal-certified, although the eatery itself isnāt.
Prices here start from $5.50 for QQ Prawns Noodle Soup with Clear Soup, or $7.50 with Collagen Broth. Other options you can have with the hand-pulled noodles are Chicken Dumplings, Prawn Dumplings, or Meatballs ($6.90/$8.90), all of which are made in-house.
If you prefer dry noodles, thereās also Zhajiang Noodles, or Sichuan Hot & Sour Dry Noodles, both of which are priced at $6.90. Thereās also thick bee hoon, should you prefer not to have hand-pulled noodles.
For just $3 more, you can make your bowl of noodles into a set meal, which would come with a choice of Chicken or Prawn Dumplings, or a Mini Chicken Cutlet. Here, you can choose to have your dumplings served boiled, pan-fried, or deep-fried. Complete it with either Iced Lemon Tea, or Honey Lemon.
Otherwise, you can get the dumplings a la carte: theyāre priced at $5.50 for six, and $8.80 for 10, whether you go for prawn or chicken dumplings.
Alternatively, get them in the collagen broth for $7.90 or $10.90, or as Sichuan Spicy Dumplings, AKA hong you chao shou, for $6.50 and $9.90 for six or 10 dumplings respectively.
