Gokoku Japanese Bakery To Open At Wisma Atria On 18 Sep

Gokoku Japanese Bakery to open in Wisma Atria

Founded in 1961, Gokoku Japanese Bakery is a popular bakery that originates from Kobe. Good news for fans, the famed bakery is slated to open their eighth outlet in Singapore at Wisma Atria on 18 September 2023!

With a wide selection of bakes to choose from, you might be faced with a dilemma when thinking of what to try. In such a case, we recommend their signature Gokoku Shichifuku Pan ($2.50). It’s made using a ton of healthier alternatives, such as brown rice flour, oatmeal, sunflower seeds, and soybeans. If you enjoy the textural contrast between soft and chewy, you’ll love this bread.

Else, you can get their Jumbo Coronet, which is said to sell like hotcakes. This pastry is packed with a rich custard and whipped cream, and dusted with powdered sugar. It’s priced at $2 for the original, and $2.20 for the chocolate version.

There’s also the Fuji Apple & Caramel Kouign-Amann ($3.20), which comprises chunks of apple slices within, topped with sliced almonds and caramel icing glaze. Fans of apple pie will surely enjoy this treat.

Mochi bakes are a huge trend right now. Hop on the bandwagon with their Mochi Mochi Cheese ($2.80), a bun with milky cheese cubes hiding within. The savoury cheese is a good pairing with the sweetness of the bun, and this simple yet moreish flavour combo will keep you going back for more.

While you’re there, be sure to take home a limited edition tote bag with a minimum spend of $20! This promotion will take place from 18 September to 22 September, and it will be limited to the first 80 customers per day. Do note that the Hokkaido Pumpkin Melon Pan in the photo above, as well as the featured image, is no longer available.

For more fresh bakes, check out Bae.gal, a bagel kiosk run by the same team behind local bakery Swee Heng. Alternatively, head down to Brotherbird Bakehouse in Raffles City for freshly baked croissants.
