Every time we’re at Great World, we’re spoiled for choice as there are over 90 eateries and F&B kiosks spanning a medley of different cuisines at this spacious shopping mall. Worry not if you’re indecisive like us, as we’ve come through with a comprehensive list of the best Great World food spots to check out. Bonus point: some of these eateries offer great food deals that make your dining experience even more memorable and worthwhile.
1. Imperial Treasure Bar + Grill

Michelin-starred Chinese fine dining restaurant group Imperial Treasure needs no introduction, but Imperial Treasure Bar + Grill might be a first for many. The famous Chinese restaurant rolled out a new concept focusing on grilled skewers paired with alcoholic drinks exclusively at Great World. Here’s a tip: enjoy 25% off your total bill any time from 3:30pm to 10pm! This deal is available now, so head down ASAP.

Since the restaurant specialises in grilled skewers, we recommend trying a variety with their Skewer Set B, currently priced at $68++ (U.P. $88++) till further notice. The set includes 10 different skewers, a noodle dish, a side of vegetables, and two desserts to round off your meal. Some of our favourite skewers were the Grilled Iberico Diced Pork with Salt and Grilled Live Prawn with Oyster Sauce; the former featured two pieces of tender pork perfectly seasoned with salt, while the latter starred a huge, juicy prawn slathered with sweet-briny oyster sauce. We ended our meal with the soft and spongy Black Glutinous Rice Pudding, which had a lovely balance of nutty and sweet flavours.

2. Zaffron Kitchen
If your birthday is around the corner, you’re in luck as the popular North Indian restaurant Zaffron Kitchen has great food deals just for you. Drop by any time during your birthday month to enjoy one out of four naan sets for free: Butter Chicken, Mutton Roganjosh, Tandoori Chicken, and Vegetarian are your options. Your dining companion also enjoys 50% off an item on the list, and both of you get a free dessert at the end of your meal!
It’s also a great restaurant for meals any day of the week. Start light with the Dahi Puri ($8.90++), starring a popular Mumbai snack filled with chutney, sweet tamarind and more within a crispy Puri shell. We enjoyed pairing the Garlic Naan ($7++) with their crowd-favourite Butter Chicken ($19.90++): the tandoor oven-baked flatbread filled with garlic tasted even better when dipped in the robust and creamy butter chicken gravy. If you, like us, think biryani is non-negotiable at Indian restaurants, go straight for the Lamb Shank Biryani ($35.90++). This one’s painstakingly prepared with Australian lamb shank, aromatic spices, and of course, basmati rice.

3. Uncle Fong Hotpot Restaurant

In light of their eighth birthday, Uncle Fong Hotpot Restaurant is offering their hotpot experience at nett prices as a token of appreciation. That’s not all: come on your birthday month, and you can enjoy a complimentary meat platter! FYI, make a reservation at least one day in advance to enjoy the deal.
For the best of both spicy and non-spicy worlds, get the Authentic Chongqing Spicy Broth + Chicken with Fish Maw Broth ($30 for small); a small pot of this is ideal for up to three diners. FYI, the soup bases are simmered with premium spices to elevate the rich, robust flavour of the broth. We ordered a bunch of veggies, meat, and seafood to pair with the broth. Some of our top picks of the lot include the Home-made Ebiko Prawn Paste ($8.50 for half a portion), Assorted Ball Platter ($14.50 for half a portion), and the lesser-seen Leather Jacket Fish ($12.50 for half a portion). It was our first time trying Leather Jacket Fish, and we were surprised by how sweet and delicate the flesh was. To enjoy the full glory of this fish, we recommend cooking it in chicken broth, as its flesh soaks up all that rich collagen goodness.

4. Kind Kones

Kind Kones is the new kid on the block. They specialise in plant-based drinks and desserts, including ice cream, cakes, cookies and more. Though they are one of the latest additions to Great World, they have successfully made a name for themselves as a clean, vegan dessert brand with great taste.
To beat the heat, their Affogato ($10) or a regular scoop of their best-selling Almond Brittle Fudge Ice Cream ($8.80) will do the trick. The former comes with a single scoop of Madagascan vanilla ice cream, with a single shot of espresso poured over, while the latter is a vanilla caramel flavour full of crunchy brittle candy pieces made from real almonds bits, along with cacao nibs, dairy-free chocolate, and chia seeds.
Alternatively, get their Iced Matcha Latte ($7.50) or Cafe Latte ($5.90) instead. As a plant-based cafe, no dairy is served so you can choose from oat, soy or almond milk for these drinks at no additional charge. There’s also the all-new Frutea ($7.80), now priced at an introductory offer of $5.90. This quencher, which uses Earl Grey tea as the base, is topped with a sorbet of your choice for a fruity and refreshing finish.

5. Tai Er
Tai Er is another new addition to Great World, and is a must-visit if you’re a fan of Sichuan cuisine. Fun fact, they have over 600 outlets all over the world.
It’d be remiss of you not to try the Signature Suancai & Fish ($49++), which sees fresh fish cooked in a balanced tangy-spicy sauerkraut soup. We got it in the medium portion size, perfect for two diners. Shoutout to another must-have main dish, the Stir-fried Beef with Pepper ($22++), which features tender beef slices in a mildly numbing spicy sauce. To quell the heat, get their Braised Cabbage with Soup ($10++) and Garlic Glass Noodles Prawn ($19++). These two boast rich yet familiar flavours that serve as hearty and comforting accompaniments to the meal.

6. That Skewer Bar 辣个串吧

There are plenty of wallet-friendly food spots at Great World and That Skewer Bar 辣个串吧 is one of them. This grab-and-go kiosk has a good selection of authentic skewers from Northeastern China, including vegetables, meat, and seafood, all priced under $10. Even better, the spice level and amount of seasoning powder you want on each skewer is completely up to you.

Though a tad daunting in colour, worry not as the seasoning powder on the skewers wasn’t spicy or intense. We really enjoyed their crispy and meaty High-Five Crispy Chicken ($3.30), which reminded us of Taiwanese fried chicken. The Thousand-layer Roll with Enoki Mushroom ($1.20) also didn’t disappoint; this was essentially enoki mushroom wrapped in a thin dried tofu skin. If you prefer tofu skin on its own, the Signature Tofu Skin ($2.20) is worth a try. Paired with a flavourful seasoning, this Dongbei speciality was one of the silkiest renditions we’ve had to date.
Alternatively, seafood lovers must get the juicy and chewy Giant Squid ($8.80) for a moreish midday pick-me-up. There’s also the Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice ($7.90) for a fuss-free meal to have on the go! Get the most bang for your buck with their combo set comprising the High-Five Crispy Chicken and Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice or mixed rice at only $8.90.

7. Okinawan Diner Nirai-Kanai
An exclusive eatery to Great World is Okinawan Diner Nirai-Kanai, a vibey Japanese restaurant that serves up Okinawan fare, a lesser-known Japanese cuisine in Singapore. This is a great spot to chill with your friends with some drinks after a long day at work.
Enjoy a night out with a glass of their draft or fruit beer, and pair your drink alongside the Braised Pork Belly (from $10.80++). Rest assured that the thick pork belly is braised till it achieves a melt-in-your-mouth texture.
If you enjoy veggies with your protein, the popular Stir-fried Bitter Gourd with Pork (from $8.50++) is a better choice: a plate comes with stir-fried egg, minced pork, sliced bitter gourd, and Okinawan beancurd. Since you’re already there, get a plate of the Vinegared Okinawan Mozuku-Seaweed ($8++), which highlights stringy mozuku AKA Okinawan seaweed that is marinated in sweet-tangy vinegar. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, stick to their Pork Miso with Cucumber ($8++) for an umami pairing of finely minced pork and crunchy sliced cucumbers.

8. Ritz Apple Strudel
Ritz Apple Strudel is a newcomer found at the basement of Great World, and is the go-to place for many of us when we crave apple strudels. The homegrown brand has been around for more than 20 years.
Starting with the most popular item, their Full Apple Strudel ($32.50) boasts three layers of puff pastry with a three-in-one combination of velvety smooth cream, custard, and apple chunks. FYI, the apple strudel comes in mini and half portions too!
If you’d like to try something apart from their signature item, their Durian Crispy Puff ($3.90) or Tiramisu Crispy Puff ($2.50) are must-tries. Each palm-sized crispy puff is filled to the brim with flavoured cream and makes for the perfect sweet treat! Otherwise, the Chocolate Mille Crepe ($5.50) is a delightful mess-free dessert that also comes in five other flavours: Original, Durian, Oreo, Matcha, and Tiramisu.
