Novena Square 2 Opens Hawkers’ Street Food Court With 4 Michelin-Approved Stalls

Hawkers’ Street food court opens at Novena Square 2

New in: Hawkers’ Street has just opened its latest food court at Novena Square 2, bringing nine food stalls to the fourth floor of the mall, near FairPrice. Four of these stalls have Michelin recognition, showing the brand’s focus on solid hawker favourites.

The food court chain is also located at Tangs Plaza, Tampines 1, and Bukit Panjang Plaza.

A highlight is 545 Whampoa Prawn Noodles, a third-generation brand known for its old-school prawn mee. The stall, which has been around since the 1950s, offers dry and soup hae mee, made with wild-caught prawns, pork slices, and crispy lard. The soup is said to be rich and packed with umami. A basic bowl of Prawn Noodles will set you back $6.90.

Another popular pick is Hill Street Hainanese Curry Rice, which serves fluffy white rice paired with a wide array of toppings, ranging from braised pork and crispy pork chop to fried fish and curry chicken. The whole thing is drenched in an aromatic curry sauce. The Pork Chop Curry Rice is priced at $6.30.

For something comforting, head to Tai Seng Fish Soup, a Michelin-approved stall popular for its clear, flavourful soup that’s made with fresh fish and veggies. This third-generation stall offers three variations, priced from $6.30: Mixed Fish Soup, Sliced Fish Soup, and Fried Fish Soup.

Besides the aforementioned stalls, diners can also look forward to familiar hawker names, including Jiak Song Mee Hoon Kway. Get their  Signature Mee Hoon Kway (price TBD), served dry and loaded with minced pork, pork slices, pork ball, and shrimp ball.

There’s also LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles, which started as a pushcart in 1968. The popular chain uses 100% yellowtail fish when making their fishballs, fishcakes, and dumplings.
