Farrer Park is home to a fair few trendy cafes, from Yeast Side to Madu The Bakery, SYIP to Daizu Cafe. Joining the line-up is Hey Slow Joe, a new Muslim-owned hole-in-the-wall cafe that serves up artisanal coffees, and fresh baked goods under $10.

The small cafe has a glasshouse vibe, thanks to the panelled floor-to-ceiling windows doubling as walls. Inside, there are a small handful of seats and low tables for you to dine in, but be warned that there aren’t many.

The coffee range here starts at $5 for a Black or $6 for a White coffee. All the coffees here are made from single-origin beans, which makes the price point truly value-for-money. Aside from the usual classic drinks, they’ve got a few inventive options, especially when it comes to their teas and other cold drinks.Â

The Iced Hojicha Latte ($8) seems to be a crowd fave so far, boasting roasted tea notes mellowed by creamy milk. Else, try their Shu’s Brew ($7), a house cold brew tea that’s quite the quencher on a hot day.
FYI, as it’s now the festive season, they’ve got a line-up of Christmassy drinks too! Flavours include a minty mocha and a nutty caramel latte with Biscoff crumble. These are available hot or iced, and prices are TBD.

Pair your coffee with a few of their fresh bakes. There are savoury and sweet options here, ranging from scones to puffs, brownies to muffins, and even tarts! Prices start from $4.80.Â
There’s been tons of buzz around their dense and gooey Nutella Blondie ($6), so grab that if you’ve got a sweet tooth. Otherwise, zone in on their tarts. The Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Praline ($9) stands out for its decadent, chocolatey filling and buttery cocoa crust. If you prefer fruit tarts, the zesty Lemon Tart ($8) is another must-try, with a balanced lemon curd middle.
The cafe is located a short walk from Farrer Park and Boon Keng MRT Stations.
