Those who reside in the North-East are in luck: from now till 30 July, the pasar malam just outside Hougang MRT Station Exit B is back! There are over 70 different stalls open every night, so you can expect a wide variety of sweet and savoury delights!Â
Of course, you’ll find crowd favourite Ramly Burgers there. You can get your burgers from $5 here. Be prepared to wait for your order though, as long queues are frequently spotted in front of it!
Seafood lovers should try this XXL Fried Sotong. Customers have the option of choosing between the XL Crispy Fried Squid ($9) or the Teppan Grilled Squid ($6). If not, there is also their BBQ Seafood series available from $6.50, where you can select your preferred seafood and choice of sauce too!Â
Taiwanese street food such as Salted Crispy Chicken ($5.50) and Fried King Oyster Mushrooms ($4) are also available, perfect for you and your dining partners to munch on while exploring the area.Â
The TikTok famous Pani Puri (price TBD) from Chai O’Clock will also be there. For those who don’t know, Pani Puri is a popular Indian street food that typically contains yoghurt, tamarind sauce, sev, fried shallots, and pomegranate bits. Chai O’Clock’s rendition of this is said to be highly flavourful and fragrant too!Â
For desserts, you can also get Dutch Mini Pancakes (from $4) from Poffertjes. Their ingredients are directly imported from Europe, so you know you’re getting the legit thing! We recommend trying the Double Chocolate Strawberry ($6) or the Maple Strawberry with French Vanilla Cream ($8) for something more unique.Â
This gigantic night market has over 70 stalls, so you consider visiting with friends to try more food to get your money’s worth! There are also tables and chairs for available should you choose to dine at the location!Â
