House of Samosas: Fusion Samosas With Nacho Cheese, Durian And More In MacPherson

House of Samosas has durian samosas at MacPherson

For the uninitiated, the samosa is a delicious snack that originated in India, but is now enjoyed all over the world—in fact, some speculate that our local curry puff was inspired by it. It’s a triangular-shaped pastry that’s usually filled with spiced potatoes, peas, and sometimes meat. There are a few places in Singapore where you can purchase it, but one of the best has got to be House of Samosas, a little eatery located in MacPherson.

House of Samosas offers a very wide range of these triangular snacks—we counted 21 different flavours in total. These are split into two categories: sweet and savoury.

From the savoury section, Butter Chicken ($2.80) and Nacho Cheese ($5) come highly recommended. The former is said to be filled with butter chicken that’s juicy and savoury, while the latter oozes rich and tangy cheese. Regardless of which samosa you get, you can always expect it to have a crunchy exterior.

One of the more fascinating savoury flavours is Chow Mein ($2). This samosa is stuffed with stir-fried noodles, and many have noted that this is a surprisingly good combination.

The sweet section has highlights such as Apple Crumble ($3.10) and Crem Brulee ($3.50). But the one that surely catches the eye of most Singaporeans is the Durian ($4.30) samosa, where a creamy durian filling makes the snack extra delectable.

Be sure to dip your samosas into the eatery’s vanilla custard dip. Its creamy consistency and sweet flavour mean each samosa will be made even more delicious.
