Japanese green tea dessert specialist Hvala, which started as a small kiosk in 313@Somerset, has just opened their fourth store, another dine-in concept at Craig Road. This latest flagship store sets itself apart from its predecessors with an alternative, 100% vegan, and dairy-free menu that hopes to raise awareness of plant-based options, and encourage conscious consumption.

Apart from the varying menus across outlets, Hvala’s Craig Road outlet also has new, exclusive items.

In this outlet, Hvala offers a wider selection of house-made Warabi Mochi, all priced at $4.90++ per serve. Flavours include Hojicha, Yuzu, Goma, and their crowd favourite, Kinako, most of which flavours come with Japanese kuromitsu, or black sugar, on the side.

For an extra indulgent treat, you can also add an additional $4++ for a scoop of house-churned, dairy-free, oat milk or matcha gelato to complement your mochi dessert.

There’s no dairy on the menu here, but you can still get your latte fix thanks to Hvala’s Soy Milk Latte Series. Get a classic Matcha Latte, or go for another of their most popular drinks━Hojicha Matcha Latte (from $5.80++). Prices for the Matcha Latte here range from $5.80++ to $13.80++, based on the grade of matcha you choose for your drink. If you prefer, there’s also an option for an oat milk beverage with a top-up of $1

First seen at their Keong Saik outlet, Hvala has brought back their popular Dairy-Free Waffles ($11.80++) with house-made gelato at Craig Road, thanks to requests from customers. Like the rest of the menu, these waffles are made with oat milk, and are said to be airier than their made-with-dairy counterparts.

Set in the spacious first floor of an old shophouse, this new Craig Road cafe is decked in wooden finishings and potted greens, with a large skylight letting in natural light. Do note that there is a current limit on dining time of one hour.
