Singapore might be the perfect place to live in if only there were four seasons instead of perpetual summer all year round. While we don’t have winter in December, we have Ice Magic Winter Wonderland 2023 to make our wish a reality—at least from now till 21 January 2024. The winter-themed pop-up previously took place as a collab with Haidilao earlier this year, and is back for a limited time only.
This year, you can look forward to exciting rides in the indoor playground, including a merry-go-round on ice and Singapore’s longest snow slope.
After you’re done with all that fun, head over to the Winter Food Village, which is situated right outside the Ice Magic Winter Wonderland. Good news: this food village is also open to the public, and runs from 10am to 10pm daily!
Here, you’ll find 11 different food stations, so you can fill up before or after visiting the playground.
We started with Wado’s Classic Rosti ($7.50) served with a dollop of sour cream. This warm, crispy potato pancake was the perfect meal to share with my colleague after playing in the “snow” for an hour.
If you find the serving to be a little small, you can add toppings such as Grilled Sausage ($4.50), Grilled Chicken ($4.90), and Smoked Salmon ($7.90) to substantiate your snack.
At this point, we were craving something heartier, so we decided to get a Mala Cup. For $15, you get seven ingredients of your choice, as well as Maggi tossed in mildly spicy Sichuan peppercorn and chilli sauce. Out of the 10 ingredients available, we opted for scallop, broccoli, shiitake mushroom, quail egg, tau pok, and two servings of pork belly.
Even better, there are both dry and tang (soup) options to choose from. My colleague and I went for the dry option, which proved to be a good choice as we cleared the cup in no time.
We felt like we had to get a cold dessert after having something spicy, so it didn’t take long for us to decide on the Thai Red Ruby In Coconut Milk ($7) as our next order.
Although the portion was a tad small for the price, we enjoyed the soft, chewy tapioca balls submerged in chilled, aromatic coconut milk.
And because we wanted to round off our meal with another dessert, we went for the S’mores Toasticles ($7). Hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows are a must during the festive season, so this was an easy decision! The treat comprises a popsicle-shaped bread slab drenched in hot chocolate sauce, and topped with crushed peanuts and three pieces of torched marshmallows.
There are three other flavours available: Milo, Matcha, and Milk Tea. Each stick is priced at $7.
Ice Magic: Winter Wonderland takes place from 9 December 2023 to 21 January 2024. Make sure you book your tickets now on SISTIC.com to enjoy this unique winter-themed experience! Prices started from $39++ per adult.
