JUMBOREE is a new food court in Tai Seng by JUMBO

If you work around the industrial area in Tai Seng, then you’d know that good food can be hard to come by. That’s why the opening of JUMBOREE is great news. Located at J’Forte, a 10-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT Station, the new food court has a wide range of stalls serving everything from satay to live seafood. Better yet, everything here is priced nett, with no GST or service charge.

If their name sounds familiar, that’s because the new eatery is the latest concept by the JUMBO Group, bringing together several of their popular brands under one roof.

There are 15 stalls in the mix, including JUMBO 1987, which offers several of JUMBO Seafood’s signature dishes, along with other unique creations exclusive to JUMBOREE.

One of these outlet-exclusive items is the Curry Fish Head Served with Jumbo You Tiao ($58), featuring a thick and spicy coconut-based curry filled with okra, tomatoes, and fried beancurd slices, served alongside a giant crispy you tiao.

They also offer live seafood such as the Live Mud Crab on Steamed Flat Rice Noodles (seasonal price), featuring a whole fresh crab cooked in a savoury black bean sauce, served atop a bed of silky rice noodles.

Fans of satay shouldn’t miss out on Tai Seng Satay.
They’ve got three types of satay to choose from: Pork Satay ($6.80), Chicken Satay ($6.80), and Mutton Satay ($7.80). Each plate comes with six sticks of freshly grilled meat, plus cucumbers, onions, and a side of their tangy-sweet pineapple peanut sauce.

Another standout is Claypot Fun, which specialises in Cantonese-style claypot rice.
Their Mixed Meats Claypot Rice (from $16.80) is a popular pick, starring tender pieces of chicken, sweet-savoury lap cheong, liver sausage, salted fish, and rice, slow-cooked in a claypot for a fragrant, smoky finish.

Alternatively, noodle lovers should check out Kok Kee Wonton Noodle for their famous wonton mee.
If you’re spoiled for choice, get their Dry Wanton Noodle Set B (from $8.30), starring springy egg noodles tossed in a fragrant, sweet-savoury sauce, topped with tender slices of char siew and choy sum, alongside a bowl of soup with silky pork-filled dumplings. You also get a plate of crispy fried wonton, too!
