If you’re a fan of Ka-Soh Restaurant, we’re sad to share that the popular zi char brand will be closing its last outlet in Bukit Timah. After more than 85 years of history, they’ve announced on their Instagram account that they won’t be renewing their lease, with their final day of operations being 28 September 2025.
From its humble beginnings as a pushcart stall in the 1930s, Ka-Soh rose to fame for its Cantonese-style fish soup, even earning a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its now-defunct flagship branch in 2016.
A fan favourite here is their Slice Fish Noodles Soup (from $11++), served with a generous portion of bouncy, thick bee hoon and tender fish slices in a flavourful broth.
Their Seafood Horfun (from $11++) is raved about too. Each bowl comes with a heap of smoky noodles coated in a thick gravy, paired with fresh veggies, prawns, and fish slices.
True Ka-Soh fans will also miss their signature Prawn Paste Chicken (from $18++), featuring crispy wings that are tender to the bone and packed full of hae bee flavour.
As one of Singapore’s oldest restaurants, Ka-Soh’s closure marks the end of an era. Their comforting fish soup, along with other beloved signature dishes, will surely be missed by many. There are only a few months left till they’re gone, so do plan a visit soon to have a taste of history.
