With Ramadan now in full swing, it’s a must to head to the iconic Gemilang Kampong Gelam Ramadan Bazaar to soak in the festive vibes and indulge in mouth-watering eats with the fam. But with over 100 stalls at this year’s edition, it may be hard to know where to start. To guide you on your visit, here’s our list of the best Gemilang Kampong Gelam Ramadan Bazaar food, tried and approved by the tewam!
1. Smashed
You may know Smashed for their famous smashed burgers, but at their Kampong Gelam stall, they’re switching things up. This Ramadan, expect a lineup of delicious tacos, found exclusively at the bazaar.
The Sambal Prawn ($14 for two) was our favourite of the lot, starring plump pieces of shrimp slathered in creamy mayo and a punchy fried chilli paste, then topped with fresh tomato and onion salsa, all tucked within a toasted tortilla. We also enjoyed the Signature Taco ($12 for two), generously loaded with a juicy smashed patty, melty cheese, lettuce, salsa, and a drizzle of their creamy and tangy house sauce.

2. Tomahawk Havoc Kak Ummi
If you’re like me and consider yourself a carnivore, then head to Tomahawk Havoc Kak Ummi for their viral Tomahawk Nasi Lemak. Judging by the steady stream of customers, this was something we didn’t want to miss out on.
Priced at $49.90, their Tomahawk Nasi Lemak is great for sharing between two. It comes not only with a whole grilled tomahawk, but also with two portions of fragrant nasi lemak, complete with crunchy ikan bilis, peanuts, hard-boiled eggs, fresh cucumbers and their sweet-spicy sambal. You also get a tub of their addictive black pepper gravy, made with the meat drippings for a rich, savoury finish. If that’s not enough, you can also pair your meal with a range of dirty fries and mac and cheese for the ultimate feast.

3. Tigafolks & Co.
Pasta lovers should make a beeline to Tigafolks & Co. for their customisable pasta bowls, which come with a variety of meat, seafood, and sauce options.
Start by picking your toppings, including Beef Meatballs ($14.90), Mussels ($14.90), and their signature Wagyu Brisket ($18.90). Thereafter, choose your preferred pasta and sauce. If you’re unsure of what to get, we recommend pairing the smoky Wagyu Brisket with Linguine and their creamy Alfredo sauce to balance out the richness of the meat’s barbecue glaze.

4. Gotcha Matcha
If you’re feeling parched, drop by Gotcha Matcha for their refreshing matcha drinks. Apart from their classic matcha lattes, the popular matcha brand has several new flavours on their menu, available only at the bazaar.
A standout here is the Pistachio Matcha ($9), which was milky yet satisfyingly grassy, made better by a hint of nuttiness from the pistachio. But the star of the show had to be the Cookie Butter Crunch with Banana Brulee ($9), blending earthy matcha with milk, before it’s topped with crushed Biscoff and torched banana slices for a crisp, caramelised finish.

5. Mawarozze
End on a sweet note with Mawarozze’s cute rose-themed desserts, each served with a little theatre. As you order, prepare to be spritzed with rose-scented perfume and showered with rose petals!
Their Signature Rose Swirl is a top pick, blending creamy vanilla and floral rose-flavoured ice cream, available in a cup ($6.50) or cone ($7). While you’re here, don’t miss out on their unique drinks such as the creamy Rose Float ($7.50) and fruity Watermelon Milk Float ($7).
