The seasoning powder tasted like a cross between Cheezels Cheese Ring snacks and truffle potato chips. I wasn’t completely sold on the flavour, as it came across a bit artificial, so I’ll be sticking to the OG seaweed version.
McDonald’s is back with another surprise: the fast food giant is turning up the heat this festive month, launching the brand-new Cheesy Jalapeno Burgers, Truffle Cheese McShaker Fries and more, starting from 1 December 2025. We were one of the lucky few who got a sneak peek at the new menu—read on for our review!
If you love beef, the Cheesy Jalapeno Quarter Pounder and Cheesy Jalapeno Double Quarter Pounder won’t disappoint, featuring juicy beef patties, crispy bacon, and jalapeno cheese sauce. You can get them as Extra Value Meals for $9.50 and $11.80, respectively.Â
We thoroughly enjoyed the cheese sauce, which was rich and creamy with a mild, peppery kick—think nacho cheese with a spicy tang. This paired excellently with the savoury bacon, meaty beef patty, and soft buns.
If you’re a McCrispy fan, you’ll want to go for the Cheesy Jalapeno Chicken Burger, which features a crispy chicken patty instead. Extra Value Meals for each of these burgers go from $9.50.Â
I preferred the fried chicken patty to the beef, as the crispy batter was a better complement to the creamy, cheesy sauce. The combination of the crunchy chicken thigh with the thick sauce and crispy bacon was delicious!
Making its debut is the Truffle Cheese McShaker Fries—yet another shaker fries variant, but finally one worth anticipating. You can get this side by topping up $1.25 to your meal.
The iconic Tartar Sauce will also be available for a limited period, this time in a tub for easy dipping.Â
McDonald’s is also launching two new desserts for those with a sweet tooth. The Cookies and Cream Pie (from $1.80) is made with real Oreo crumbs and a velvety cream, encased in a cocoa pie crust. Cookies and cream is one of my favourite ice cream flavours, so I’m happy to report that this pie didn’t disappoint—think a crispy Oreo crust filled with a milky, creamy centre.
The Mango x Pineapple Cone ($1.30) is also making its debut, bringing tropical flavours to finish off your meal—or just to beat the sweltering Singapore heat. With the perfect balance of mango and pineapple, this creamy soft serve wasn’t overly sweet either.
A new lineup of exclusive McDonald’s merch is also hitting stores from 1 December 2025. The Pocket Pouch Blindboxes will be available for $7.90 with every purchase of a meal (excluding Happy Meal), and you can choose from four possible designs: Grimace, Hamburgular, Birdie, and the Special – French Fries.Â
From 11 December 2025, you can also get this McDonaldland Sticker Sheet when you purchase select meals, including the Cheesy Jalapeno Burger Feast.
In other food news, KFC has just launched a takoyaki-inspired burger. Popular HK noodle chain Fei Zap Mai Laan from Shanghai is also opening at Vivocity.
