Nasty Cookie Launches “Macroissant”, SG’s First Macaron-Croissant Pastry

11th July 2024

Nasty Cookie launches new “Macroissant” pastry

Hot on the heels of the croissant cookie and smashed croissant hype trains is yet another potentially viral trend: the “Macroissant”. A hybrid between the macaron and croissant, this new pastry is said to have been created by Nasty Cookie, an OG thick cookie brand in Singapore.

8 Bakeries To Get The Viral Crookie AKA Cookie Croissant In Singapore

The new pastry, said to be the first in Singapore, is essentially a cross between a macaron and a croissant: think flaky laminated pastry topped with a crackly macaron shell, filled with a creamy middle.

Previously, they were only available on the Nasty Cookie website. Now, you can also find them at the Orchardgateway and Marina Square outlets. As with most food trends, we’re not sure how long these pastries will be available until, so make sure you get them stat!

There are three flavours available, priced at $8.50 per piece:  Straight Up Vanilla, shown in the photo above, Fruity Queen, and Double Trouble. The first flavour is inspired by vanilla ice cream and comes with a blue-swirled topping. Each croissant comes with a sugary, meringue-like topping that’s similar to a macaron shell.

Despite the brand being well-known for their cookies, we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious these croissants were!

Those who love cookies and cream can try the Double Trouble Macroissant, which turned out to be our favourite flavour.

This croissant is filled with a generous amount of Oreo-spiked cream right in the middle.

The most colourful option is Fruity Queen, a pastel-toned, blue-and-pink pastry that’s orange and raspberry flavoured. This pretty Macroissant flavour is launched in celebration of Pride Month.

If you have a serious sugar craving, you’ll enjoy this flavour as it was the sweetest one out of the three we tried.
