The start of a new month only means one thing: our monthly new restaurant guide is here! From TikTok-viral stretchy yoghurt to Melbourne’s famed Thai desserts, here are the best new restaurants and cafes in Singapore to check out this August 2025.
Table of Contents
Back with a new chapter this August is SanSara, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore’s North Indian fine-dining gem. Minted as one of the top Indian restaurants in Singapore by those in the know, the newly renovated space now features a curated menu that pays homage to the timeless flavours of the region. Expect to savour your way through dishes from the royal feasts of Lucknow to the spice-rich kitchens of Kashmir, all reimagined with SanSara’s signature finesse.
If you’re lost on what to order, here are our recommendations: begin your meal with the Tali Hokkaido Scallops ($54++), a delicate starter where sweet, pan-seared scallops meet the chef’s fragrant house-blend turmeric masala. Seafood lovers can also dig into the Keri Wali Machli Curry ($56++), a soulful Patagonian toothfish curry featuring a tangy raw mango gravy, layered with ginger and garam masala. And for a taste of pure decadence, go for the Sailana Shevand ($65++): spiny lobster simmered in a rich, aromatic gravy inspired by recipes once served at royal banquets in the palaces of Uttar Pradesh.

Gwangjang Gaon isn’t just any typical Korean restaurant; it’s owned by a famous Korean celebrity chef, Professor Hyo Soon Park. You may have spotted her on numerous cooking shows, including TV Chosun’s Salim 9danui Manmulsang. But that’s not all—this restaurant’s also earned the stamp of approval from celebrities, including Lee Jung-jae of the iconic Netflix series, Squid Game. If that’s not enough to persuade you to visit, perhaps their food will.
During our visit, we found the GAON Galbi ($69.90++) delicious. It features premium beef short ribs boiled in herbs for over 24 hours, boasting a rich herbal flavour that we couldn’t get enough of. We recommend the Deulgireum Makguksu ($21.90++) too, for its fragrant perilla oil aroma. For sides, order the Modm-Geon ($29.90++): pan-fried fritters served with tangy soy-vinegar on the side.

Yogurt Planet is a new spot that’s gone viral recently with their “stretchy” DIY yoghurt. A Small bowl here goes for $6.60, while Medium costs $8.90, and Large goes for $10.90. FYI—Large feeds up to two persons comfortably.
There are five yoghurt flavours, with the Emerald, starring a refreshing green grape yoghurt flavour, being our favourite. For toppings, you can pick from the likes of barley, granola, haw flakes, mini cookies, fresh fruits, taro jelly and more.

There’s also Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle, another Michelin-approved stall known for their robust Curry Chicken Noodle (from $5). Other noteworthy picks include Pin Wei Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun and Whampoa Traditional Fried Oyster.

From now till 23 November 2025, pinkies up at Ginger.Lily‘s new afternoon tea, titled A Symphony of Origins: Terroir and Bloom. A collaboration between the Michelin-starred Chef Adrien Descouls and Hilton Singapore Orchard’s Executive Sous Chef Cindy Khoo, the limited-time high tea is priced at $78++ per person. It stars a multi-course experience comprising a brilliant mix of sweet and savoury creations, fusing Chef Adrien’s French fine dining background with Chef Cindy’s French-Japanese desserts.
There’s a whopping total of 16 bites in this afternoon tea, so we recommend pacing yourself. Our favourite picks from the savoury selection are the Shepherd’s Truffle Broth, a rich and cheesy soup that felt like a hug in a bowl, and Hen’s Egg with French Caviar, prepared with vodka mousse and dashi. The sweets are equally impressive; highlights include the Hakuto Peach Chouquette, a peach tea and raspberry choux pastry, and the Tarte Aux Amandes with Avocado: lemon and avocado cream packed in a buttery tart shell.
High tea hours: Daily 1pm to 3pm, 3:30pm to 5:30pm

The next time you’re at Raffles City Shopping Centre, head to The Food Place, the mall’s newly revamped food court. Here you’ll find 20 food stalls, including Michelin-recommended award-winning brands.
Popular cha chaan teng from Hong Kong Mon Kee Cafe makes an appearance here, offering their famous scrambled egg rice. We recommend their Char Siew Scrambled Egg Rice ($8.50), which features soft and silky scrambled egg and barbecued pork slices atop a generous portion of rice. Michelin Bib Gourmand recipients Ju Xing Fish and Li Xin Twochew Fishball Noodles, along with SMASH by BurgerLabo, are not to be missed, too.

The Melbourne-famous Homm Dessert has opened their second outlet in Singapore, at RWS’ new Weave Mall! You’ll find their signature shaved ice, alongside a whole new lineup of savoury bites here.
If it’s your first time trying Homm, we recommend their best-selling Thai Tea Avalanche Bingsu ($19.80++). This showstopping dessert features layers of house-made Thai tea gelato, whipped cream cheese, buttery sable crumbs, and a snowflake-textured bingsu cake. You also get grass jelly, Thai tea sauce, and condensed milk on the side, so you can customise the bingsu to your liking.

CBD folks, there’s a new opening in your area. Shin Katsu is an exciting new concept helmed by Chef Matsubayashi Masato, the former Head Chef of Ma Maison and a tonkatsu specialist with over 15 years of experience!
The tonkatsu speciality restaurant spotlights premium pork cuts curated by Chef Masato, including Mangalica from Hungary, often referred to as the “Kobe beef of pork”. You can try it in the form of the Mangalica Rosu Katsu Set ($42.80++), where a 160g pork loin cutlet is coated in a custom panko breadcrumb blend and deep-fried till crispy, and then served with a special salt. Another highlight is the Mille-Feuille Black Truffle Katsu Set ($37.80++): thinly sliced Japanese pork with a layer of black truffle middle, served with truffle salt. If you’ve read our best shio pan in Singapore guide, you’ll know just how much we loved Pawa Bakery. The popular bakery, which currently has stores in Raffles Place and Plaza Singapura, has announced their third outlet opening: The Star Vista. The new cafe is set to launch in August 2025, with an exclusive dine-in menu comprising lunch sets and fresh bakes.
Those who love salt bread will enjoy Pawa Bakery’s Plain Shio Pan ($2.30)—we rated this the best shio pan in Singapore! There’s also a Sweet Potato Shio Pan ($3.20) variation, which we loved for its combination of earthy sweet potato and salty, buttery bun.

Alice Boulangerie recently opened another outlet at Raffles City, but with a fun twist—the new cafe doubles as a bakery, serving seven different kinds of buns that are prepared fresh, on-site.
Matcha girlies can try the trendy Matcha Nama Bun ($6.50++), where a matcha-infused bun is packed with a thicc chunk of nama matcha chocolate and topped with mascarpone matcha cream. It’s then finished with a light dusting of matcha powder. If you prefer something savoury, go for the Mentaiko Prawn Bun ($5.20++), featuring fresh tiger prawns and crisp cabbage mixed with creamy mentaiko mayo, or the Angus Short-Ribs Bun ($7.70++): slow-braised Angus beef short ribs sandwiched between a matcha bun.

Avid drinkers, listen up: Din Tai Fung has opened their first cocktail bar in Asia, right here in Singapore! The swanky restaurant bar is located at the new Weave mall in RWS, which houses close to 40 tenants.
There are three curated cocktails on the menu, each inspired by a character in the brand name, Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐). Din ($30++) is a fruity mix of gin, jasmine, lychee, strawberry, and lemon; Tai ($30++) combines sage-infused tequila with lemon, lime, honey, and fresh pineapple juice; Fung ($30++) stars rum, brandy, lemongrass, lemon, and ginger beer.
While you’re there, splurge on the Premium Lobster Dry Noodle in Chef’s Seafood Sauce ($39.80++): sweet poached wild-caught Boston lobster served atop la mian, tossed in a house-made seafood sauce.

Mensho Tokyo, one of our go-to places for toripaitan, AKA chicken broth ramen in Singapore, has a casual offshoot called Mensho X. The new CBD eatery specialises in Toripaitan Ramen, starting from just $17++. Furthermore, every ramen or tsukemen order comes with a free first serving of extra noodles!
If you can take spice, we recommend their Firebird Ramen ($20++), a tori paitan spiked with mala. This bowl features the brand’s signature chicken broth, infused with Sichuan peppercorns, chilli paste, and a dash of black garlic oil for an umami punch. The noodles are noticeably thinner than the thick wheat-based ones found at Mensho Tokyo, though they retained their springiness.
Alternatively, those who prefer rice can consider their donburi options, including the Negi Chashu Rice Bowl ($8.80++).

ICYMI: the world-famous pastry chef Pierre Herme has officially launched his flagship store in Singapore! We got a sneak peek of what’s to offer at the new two-storey cafe in Weave, Resorts World Sentosa’s (RWS) latest mall.
You can’t visit Pierre Herme without trying their iconic French macarons, priced from $4 each. There are 18 flavours to choose from, including Infiniment Chocolat Paineiras, a Brazilian single-origin dark chocolate, and Infiniment Praline Pistache, filled with nutty pistachio cream. Their dainty entremets are also worth the calories. Our favourite was the Plasir Sucre ($9), with its rich hazelnut dacquoise base and milk chocolate layers.
This outpost also houses the world’s first Pierre Herme ice cream bar! Choose from 12 different flavours, including Singapore-exclusive Ispahan soft serve (from $6).

Else, the Classic Pomelo Sago ($6.80) is a safe bet, comprising a creamy mix of coconut milk, fresh mango cubes, chewy sago balls, and small pieces of pomelo.
