15 New Restaurants In Singapore In July 2024—Retro HK Cafe, $19.90 Hotpot Buffet And More

New restaurants in Singapore this July 2024

The month of July is a happening one, with a whole slew of launches and events to look forward to: KFC’s fried chicken buffet, Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre’s opening, Pasir Ris Mall’s grand opening and many more. To add to the list, we’ve compiled these 15 new restaurants for July 2024, including cafes and famous eateries, to check out on your next weekend!

1. Within the Walls

The newly opened Within The Walls Dessert Bar in East Coast is a great supper spot to visit if you’re in the area. You can choose from an array of traditional Chinese desserts while dining in the retro, 80s-inspired interiors.

To beat the heat, we recommend getting their Steady Pom Pi Pi Strawberry ($14.80), which strikes a perfect balance of tangy and sweet flavours. This strawberry snow ice comes topped with fresh strawberries and a dollop of yoghurt, an interesting addition that made this dessert incredibly delicious. FYI, real fruits are used to make most of their snow ice desserts! There’s also the classic Mango Sago with Mini Taro Q ($7.50), featuring chewy mini taro balls and sweet mango cubes.

2. Dal.Komm Playground

Fans of K-dramas or Korean food will know of the popular coffee chain Dal.Komm Coffee, which made a grand appearance in Descendants of the Sun. Recently, they came up with a dining concept called Dal.Komm Playground, and this new cafe is located at Guoco Midtown.

Swing by with a group of friends and enjoy their Signature Seafood Kimchi Ramyun Soup ($39.90++), an elevated version of Korean ramyeon with fresh prawns, crab, and octopus. This tasted best when paired with the Seafood Pancake ($23.90++), starring a crispy, buttery kimchi batter with a variety of seafood. Wash it all down with the Strawberry Makgeolli Bingsu ($38++): this dessert comes with a huge bowl of bingsu filled with berries and crushed ice, along with a 1.2-litre bottle of Korean rice wine on the side. You can add as much or as little as you want—whatever floats your boat!

GU:UM is a new contemporary Korean restaurant in Chinatown by Chef Han Seok Hyun, who’s also the brainchild of the one-Michelin-starred NAE:UM. In case you were wondering, GU:UM means “to grill”, which corroborates their identity as a grill restaurant.

Meat lovers will love the tender Tajima Wagyu Ribeye MBS 8 ($188++ for 280g) and flavourful Iberico Pluma ($118++ for 300g). You can choose a marinade for each dish out of four different flavours: galbi, chilli gochujang, fermented fish sauce, and salted! Pair your proteins with the Sot Bibimbap ($32++), which comes in a traditional cast iron pot packed with Korean short-grain rice and seasonal ingredients. Finally, end your meal with the popular Hotteok ($18++): a pan-fried pancake filled with brown sugar and cinnamon, and finished with a scoop of burnt honey ice cream and mixed nuts.
