The next 30 days are incredibly exciting for foodies, thanks to the rush of new restaurants in November to check out. We’ve been busy tasting and reviewing these hot entries to our local dining scene, so let us take you through some of the new restaurants in November you can’t miss.
Famous Tokyo souffle pancake eatery, Flipper’s, has finally docked in Singapore after opening multiple outlets worldwide. Its first Southeast Asian cafe in Orchard will feature souffle pancakes in both sweet and savoury flavours. Introduce yourself to their inimitable fuwa-fuwa pancakes with their classic Kiseki Pancakes Plain ($17.80), adorned with maple buttercream. The cafe will also have seasonal fruit pancakes, such as their Millennial Strawberry ($20.80), which star Chitose strawberries and berry-infused cream cheese. The latter will only be around for a month, so get them when the cafe opens on 6 November 2020.
Located at Takashimaya’s basement one, the cafe is cosy, outfitted with neon lights, and an open-concept kitchen so you can see the pancakes being made in real-time.

Tempura Tendon Tenya, Japan’s number one tendon chain, arrived in Singapore recently, with bowls of tempura rice bowls under $15 in tow. We highly recommend the Singapore-exclusive Tori Tendon ($9.90), where tender karaage and chicken breast tempura share space with sweet potato, pumpkin, and a tempura egg, all atop pearl grain rice. Also, don’t miss their creamy Hokkaido milk ice cream, sold at just $2 nett.
Located at Orchard Central’s basement, the eatery is all classic Japanese diner in decor, with light wood furnishings. Watch out for the robot server who brings your meal to the table — its name is Peanut.

8ASH is a new 40-seater multi-concept diner in Ann Siang Hill, where three food brands exist under one roof. There is Mirai Burgers, an American-Japanese burger joint, Hoshi Hill for casual luxe Japanese food, and Love Handle Burgers for vegan fare. The Chilled Hokkaido Scallop Somen ($25) was a resounding favourite, with juicy slivers of scallops topping somen dressed in shio, while the Katsu Okonomiyaki Burger ($16) has all the workings of a good pork burger.
Located on the first floor of a shophouse, the entirety of 8ASH is stylised like a retro American diner, with neon accents, making for an IG-worthy dining spot.

New Ubin Seafood is known for its zi char fare, but they also have an offshoot concept known as Garang Grill, which has recently relocated to a canteen in Tampines known as New Ubin Village.
Though the space is industrial, Garang Grill is worth the drive if you’re a big New Ubin Seafood lover, as the eatery reworks grilled meats into fusion bites. Highlights include the Argentinian Striploin ($38), considered to be one of the best beef cuts in the world, and the Crispy Pork Jowl ($12), where fatty pork is sous vide for half a day, then deep-fried, and finished in an oven for a smoky kiss.

It’s all about ebi at Menya Kanae, a new ramen joint at Novena. Their speciality is their Spicy Tokusei Sapporo Ebi Tonkotsu Ramen ($19.80), a miso-based broth tinged with spicy paste and prawn oil, then topped with all the works: chashu, a molten egg, and chargrilled prawns.
Decorated like a modern izakaya, the cosy eatery is great for lunch if you work or live in the area, as it’s a short walk from Novena Church.

Open till 3am, Wan Wan Thai is where you want to be if you’re craving dessert for supper. The Thai-style dessert cafe has three highlights: thick Shibuya-style toast or waffles, both with ice cream, or their bingsus, of which they have a Thai Milk Tea flavour ($10.90++).
Situated at Bencoolen, the cafe is just a short walk away from Rochor MRT station. The space is full of white furnishings, accented by neon touches and pockets of greenery.

“Wagyu” and “cheap” are total opposites, but they have found common ground at new causal diner, Syohachi Wagyu Hamburg. You can get hamburg patties and sandwiches made with Japanese A5 wagyu beef from just $7.70, and load it up with toppings like cheese, omelette, and more for an additional $1. Do take note, though, that the eatery’s menu changes throughout the day.
Easily accessed via Raffles Place MRT, the eatery is the first thing you see when you walk through One Raffles Place‘s glass doors, perfect for breakfast or lunch if you work in the area.

Singaporeans may not be as familiar with Northern Thai food, but at Soi Candy, you get a masterclass that takes you through the cuisine’s highlights. Expect portions best for sharing with a group at this noodle bar. Dishes you can’t miss include the sweet and tender bowl of Signature Softbone Pork Longan Stew With Rice Noodles ($10.90), and the Crispy Kangkong With Seafood and Speciality Dip ($21.90). The latter is deep-fried tempura-style, then served with crispy shrimp.
Located at Tanjong Pagar, this Thai restaurant also provides something different to a stretch overrun by Korean eateries.

Merci Marcel’s new cafe concept, French Fold, is gaining serious traction on social media thanks to their crepes and galettes. The bistro brings authentic Brittany-style galettes, a.k.a savoury crepes, to Singapore, made with buckwheat flour and adorned with medley of fillings. We loved their No.4 ($17), a simple and effective combination of ham, mushrooms, and a sunny-side-up-egg. They also have dessert crepes, served with gelato from Birds of Paradise, including a Hojicha Sea Salt ($10) option.
The bistro itself looks transplanted from France, with lush greenery, high ceilings, and chic wooden furniture — perfect for catch-ups with friends or a quiet cup of coffee alone.

Fatburger has recently opened its flagship diner at Orchard Cineleisure, complete with a brand-new Fish Burger ($8.50) on the menu. Customise your burger whatever way you want it, and enjoy it with a side of Buffalo Chicken Wings (from $7), and Churros (from $6.50). The latter even comes with a gula melaka dip, if you prefer an Asian twist.
What’s even more attractive about the new outlet is its decor, which is designed like a retro Los Angeles diner, with bright neon accents perfect for an IG food shot.
