If the combination of buffet and seafood has your heart like it has stolen mine, then this new hotel buffet find is it. Food Exchange at Novotel Singapore on Stevens has not just one or two, but three different signature buffets that will appeal to seafood lovers.
Start your week right with the @Stevens Sunday Brunch—enjoy free-flow champagne alongside a spread of fresh seafood and plenty of other dishes, every Sunday from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at $88++ per adult. Plus, here’s a great deal to make this buffet all the better: enjoy a 1-for-1 promotion from 3 July till the end of September 2024!
Come Wednesday, it’s your sign to indulge in the Oh Shucks! It’s Wednesday Buffet with over 15 unlimited seafood dishes, including snow crab leg and Japanese oysters. This buffet takes place from 6pm to 9:30pm at $68++ per adult. You can also enjoy a 1-for-1 promotion from 3 July till the end of September 2024!
Finally, celebrate the weekends with the LobsterMania Buffet, starring unlimited portions of fresh lobster you can enjoy to your heart’s content every Saturday from 6pm to 9:30pm at $98++ per adult.
If you’re confused about the difference between the three seafood buffets, we’ll break it down now.
Let’s start with the @Stevens Sunday Brunch. Of course, there’s the Ultimate Seafood on Ice Bar with crowd-favourites such as Scallops, NZ Half Shell Mussels, Oysters, Snow Crab Legs and more. Pair that with your pick from their equally impressive selection of savoury dishes—we recommend Truffle Penne with Mushroom Cream or Claypot Frog Legs Congee with Ginger and Spring Onion.
Our top pick of the lot was the local favourite Chilli Crab paired with Deep-Fried Mantou, so be sure to eat your fill of this dish.
The buffet is made better thanks to complimentary access to their infinity pool, which means you can drink, dine, and swim at once!
For a midweek pick-me-up, the Oh Shucks! It’s Wednesday Buffet has got your back. Fans of oysters will surely fancy the delicious spread here, as you can expect both raw and cooked versions of this seafood.
For cooked oysters, we suggest starting with the creamy and cheesy Oyster Mornay, followed by the crispy and savoury Tempura Oyster, and ending it off with their punchy Oyster Kilpatrick, topped with bacon and Worcestershire sauce.
If you prefer to keep it simple, we recommend the raw Irish Oysters and Japanese Oysters. The former is extra soft and almost creamy, while the latter is sweet, buttery, and distinctively more fleshy. Aside from oysters, there’s a staggering array of crab dishes so you can enjoy the best of both worlds! Highlights include the Black Pepper Crab, Salted Egg Crab and Wok-fried Sri Lankan Crab.
Pair your fresh oysters and crab dishes with a moreish bowl of laksa from the live station. The gravy here is lighter, but slightly milky, creamy, and no less lemak. Plus, we really liked how fresh and plump the prawns were—they were visibly larger than the ones typically served with laksa in many other buffet restaurants.
As the name suggests, LobsterMania Buffet is for those who love tender, succulent, and uber-fresh lobster. There are a total of 14 dishes with lobster, which we thought was impressive as this level of variety isn’t a common find at many other buffet offerings in Singapore.
The hero crustacean is served in several different ways, including Chilli Lobster with the must-have fried mantou, and the rich and fragrant Lobster Pasta with Truffle & Mushroom Cream.
Other highlights on the menu include the Lobster Thermidor and Thai Lobster Glass Noodle Salad. The former features a melty yet crispy cheese crust atop fresh lobsters, while the latter is a tangy, zesty dish comprising a colourful medley of vegetables and lobster knuckle meat.
Unlimited portions of a wide seafood spread can break the bank, but you don’t have to worry about the cost with Novotel’s value-for-money buffet options. So the next time you’re looking for an indulgent feast with your loved ones, Novotel Singapore on Stevens is one for the books.
