ICYMI: pig’s blood curd has returned to Singapore, after a lengthy 27-year ban! The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) approved the import of heat-treated pork blood products from Thailand’s Bangkhla Pig Slaughterhouse on 1 April 2026. Since then, restaurants and hawkers have been adding them to their menus, experimenting with the new ingredient that has piqued many a Singaporean foodie’s interest. If you’re looking to buy into this new food trend, here are 7 restaurants to try pig blood curd at.
Hotpot chain Haidilao was one of the first restaurants to introduce pig blood curd on their menu, and we found it to be a decent hotpot ingredient that had the consistency of tofu. It tasted remarkably clean with a subtle, metallic hint, and soaked up the flavours of the broth well. The usual price for one portion of pig blood curd is $6++, but from now till 30 June 2026, you can enjoy a promotional price of $3++ per portion.

Chinese restaurant PUTIEN, a popular local restaurant chain that specialises in home-style Fujian food, will be adding three new dishes that incorporate pig blood curd: Stir-fried Pig Blood Curd With Chinese Chives ($12.80), Pig Blood Curd With Glass Vermicelli And Chinese Sauerkraut ($16.80), and Crispy Fried Pig Blood Curd ($12.80). Apparently, they’re still experimenting with the new ingredient and might not keep it as a mainstay, so give it a try while you still can!

The “legendary” Liang Ji Char Kway Teow made waves in 2023 with their “humful” char kway teow, and they’re looking to make another splash, this time with their Fried Bloody Humful Pig (from $15): pig blood curd wok-fried with tau geh, pork lard, and chives, then loaded with a heap of cockles. If you’re not a fan of see hum, try their Fried Bloody Pig ($10) instead—basically the same dish without cockles. Do take note that these dishes will only be available at their Chinatown outlet.

Premium hotpot restaurant Tong Xin Ru Yi, located at the Boat Quay area, is adding pig blood curd to their hotpot menus at $9++ for a 400g serving. It goes well with all 15 soups on their menu, and if you’re having trouble picking one, their bestselling soup bases here include the Golden Chicken Soup ($20++), a hotpot base that’s prepared with kampong chicken and pumpkin, and the Stewed Marinated Beef with Spicy Soup ($48++), a mala beef broth with three different cuts of beef.

Tanyu is the go-to place for consistently delicious Chongqing grilled fish, and they’re offering the option to add pig blood curd to two fish dishes: the Grilled Fish with Fresh Green Pepper ($48.90++) and Grilled Fish in Spicy Sauce ($48.90++). This option is priced at $6++ for 100g, but from 15 June to 30 June 2026, it’s priced at $2.70++, limited to one serving for each fish!

Aligning with the opening of their fifth outlet here at VivoCity, Hakka Yu is introducing a signature dish incorporating pig blood curd, alongside a variety of Hakka comfort dishes. The Braised Pig Blood Curd with Chives & Chinese Sauerkraut “Zhe Zhe” Pot ($15.80++)—a Hakka claypot dish that incorporates the newly-unbanned ingredient, braised with fragrant chives and tangy Chinese sauerkraut.

Those nostalgic for laksa with pig blood curd can try it at Enjoy Eating House and Bar along Stevens Road, where they have Laksa Handmade Yong Tau Foo With Pork Blood Curd ($22++). This laksa rendition is served in a claypot and is packed full of YTF ingredients and chunks of pig blood curd. For a lighter meal, try the Pork Blood Curd And Chives Soup ($18++), the perfect remedy for a rainy or sick day.
