Pistachio fans: here’s one exciting launch to bookmark for when you’re in the Upper Paya Lebar area. Started by husband-and-wife duo Kenneth Yong and Laureen Goh—the same team behind private dining business The Mixtape Chef—Pistachio Everything is a walk-in-only store that specialises in desserts like ice-cream, kaya, and tiramisu, all made with premium Sicilian pistachios.

It’s all serious business when it comes to the pistachios used in each product; here the pistachios are sourced from a small town called Bronte, which lies in the volcanic foothills of Mount Etna in Sicily. This unique location gives the nut a strong depth of flavour, unlike the more common versions from California or Iran. As such, Sicilian pistachios are known to be some of the best pistachios in the world!

Must-tries include the Sicilian Pistachio Ice Cream ($25), which has been touted by its loyal fans to be the best pistachio ice cream in Singapore. Featuring a rich and luxurious frozen custard base consisting of cream, milk, sugars, egg yolks, skimmed milk powder, and Sicilian pistachios, the uber smooth ice cream is best consumed within two weeks as each pint is freshly churned.

If you like a bit of bite, get the Chunky ($28) version, which features the same base studded with bits of house-made Pistachio Crisps. These addictive crisps ($25) are also available for purchase at the online store, and make for the perfect tea-time treat.

If you’re thinking about one-upping your breakfast game, get the Sicilian Pistachio and Pandan Kaya ($18). Made with only egg yolks, freshly squeezed pandan juice, coconut milk and a heaping helping of Sicilian pistachio paste, this preservative-free spread is a fun twist on the local classic. Alternatively, the Earl Grey, Elderflower and Pistachio Tiramisu ($29) is a tasty pick-me-up for any time of the day.

Pistachio Everything is only open on Saturdays for advanced and walk-in orders, so be sure to order online first if you want to secure their goodies. Delivery is also available on Saturdays. Currently, The Mixtape Chef is not taking new bookings temporarily. For updates, visit their Instagram page.
