If you live near the newly extended Punggol Coast MRT Station, you’d be excited to hear that Punggol Coast Hawker Centre has opened its doors right beside it!

The new 576-seater food centre offers 40 stalls, including Michelin-recognised names, legacy hawker stalls, and innovative concepts.

You can expect big names here, such as Michelin Bib Gourmand awardee Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee. Their Hokkien Mee (from $5) is gravy-laden and uses thick bee hoon; when we visited the OG stall in Whampoa, we loved the crispy pork lard that accompanied the noodles.

Don’t miss out on Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle, another Michelin-selected stall. Their Curry Chicken Noodle (from $5) is said to have a robust curry stock that is mildly spicy, and comes with tender pieces of chicken and tau pok.

A case of a “lost-and-found” hawker appears here, with 50-year-old South Buona Vista Braised Duck making a comeback after shuttering in early 2024. The Teochew-style boneless braised duck is revived with the same time-honoured recipe that fans will be familiar with!

Other notable local favourites include Pin Wei Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun, Whampoa Traditional Fried Oyster, Kedai Salima and SJ Sickander Ammal Muslim Food.

Complementing these legacy stalls are a lineup of fresh concepts by young and emerging hawkers. Enter What The Puff, a curry puff stand serving up unconventional flavours, founded by three young hawker entrepreneurs. Their Char Siew Chicken Puff ($2.50) pairs spicy curry with sweet char siew glaze, while the Cheese Curry Puff ($2.50) oozes with a layer of cheese, perfect for that trendy cheese pull.

For youthful energy, you can also check out stalls like Hakka Leipopo, a lei cha stall opened by an ex-piano teacher, and affordable seafood from Hee Hee Hee Steamed Fish & Seafood, run by two young fishmongers.

Punggol Coast Hawker Centre is a two-minute walk from Punggol Coast MRT Station Exit 1. The food centre is run by FairPrice Group’s Kopitiam.
