Strawberry matcha latte was all the rage in 2024, and Spring Coffee was one of the first cafes that served the viral drink. Tucked away on the second floor of Hong Lim Complex in Chinatown, this minimalist cafe opened in January 2024, and offers bakes and drinks—strawberry matcha latte included—at nett prices.

Their signature strawberry matcha drink was supposed to be a monthly special, but it has since become a permanent item on the menu thanks to the overwhelming support of their patrons. A beautiful glass of the Strawberry Matcha Latte is priced at $8.50, featuring a layer of their house-made strawberry puree, followed by strawberry milk, and finally, matcha.

Every cup is prepared fresh at the counter upon order! This drink leans milky and sweet rather than earthy and bitter, and the drink had a good strawberry milk-to-matcha ratio.

If strawberry isn’t your thing, try the Mango Matcha Latte ($8.50) instead, which features mango puree, fresh milk, and matcha. It was slightly watered down for our liking, but if you’d like something different, give it a try!

Opt for a vibrant cup of the Signature Spring Matcha ($7.50) for those who prefer your matcha as it is. This one boasts a balance of bittersweet flavours, and the overall taste was grassy with mildly astringent notes.

Drinks aside, there’s a display of bakes that changes day to day, but their croissants seem to be a constant item on the menu. There are three flavours to choose from: Plain ($4), Kaya & Butter ($6), and Peanut Butter & Jam ($6). Their Blueberry Lemon Cake ($6), which boasts a tart-tangy taste, is a must-try item.
