Planning a Christmas dinner for a small group is struggle enough, but being tasked to plan a meal for larger groups means you’re in for more fuss than festivities this year-end. Stamford Catering’s line-up lets you pick from 18 different festive specials, each tailored to a different group size. Everything comes ready-to-eat—no need to warm things up in the oven, or slow roast from scratch.
If it’s an intimate gathering you’re organising the meal for, then we‘d suggest Asian-inspired Rudolph’s Red Dot Bundle, which feeds up to 10, from $278++.Â
The meal starts with Laksa Chicken Mid-Wings—think deep-fried wings coated in their house-made laksa paste.
These make for excellent finger food with a cold drink alongside!
The hero of this bundle is the Belly Shiok Curry Turkey, a localised take on roast turkey. The whole bird is marinated in their house-made curry paste, then slow-roasted to aromatic, juicy ends.
The skin is a delightful golden-brown, and slightly crispy too.
This is accompanied by a Gratin Beef Rendang. This Nyonya spin on a Shepherd’s Pie is, in our opinion, much tastier than the OG ang moh version.
You get a rich, lemak rendang stew with chunks of tender beef, topped with mashed potatoes that are broiled so you get crispy bits in every spoonful.Â
The set also includes a Butter Chicken Lasagna, which marries Northern Indian and Italian flavours.Â
Expect layers of curried bechamel, butter chicken, and pasta sheets, adorned with a final layer of cheese that’s gone golden brown in the oven.
No Christmas feast is complete without dessert. Stamford Catering swaps out the usual log cake for a family-sized Orh Nee Bread And Butter Pudding, a Teochew interpretation of the English classic.
Here, brioche pillows are cooked in a sweet, earthy orh nee—the result is a super comforting end to all that feasting.
If you’re planning for a dinner with 10 times the people, turn to Stamford Catering’s Festive Buffets. The Merry Buffet ($22++ per person) feeds a minimum of 30 people, though you can size up your order to feed over 100, easily.
The buffet comes with eight courses, all of them crowd-pleasers. To start, you’ve got a Maple Glazed Turkey Ham Platter with orange cranberry compote, and a Festive Salad studded with feta, walnuts, and a zesty lemon vinaigrette.
Following that, there are four different main dishes, from Baked Spiced Seabass Fillet with Lemon Beurre Blanc, to Chicken Ala King, a creamy chicken and mushroom stew with green beans. For carbs, pick between a Barley Risotto with Field Mushrooms and Truffle, or a spicy Spaghetti Aglio Olio E Peperoncino. Dessert comes in the form of a Traditional English Carrot Cake.Â
