This New Hawker Stall Has Duck Confit And Truffle Pasta In Woodleigh

Style Palate has European dishes at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre

The recent opening of Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre has introduced a slew of interesting stalls to the North-East, one of which is Style Palate. This stall is said to offer a kind of “modern European fusion”, which roughly translates to dishes that you rarely see at hawker centres.

One of their must-try offerings is the Duck Confit ($12), a classic French dish that sees duck leg slow-cooked till tender and then placed atop creamy mashed potatoes. Since they were out of said potatoes when we dropped by, they substituted them with the pasta you see above—you’re likely to enjoy the dish as intended.

Another dish to check out is the Cold Umami Angelhair ($6), featuring delicate angel hair pasta tossed with the fragrance of truffle and the savoury bursts of tobiko. While we thought the dish could’ve been more flavourful overall, we nevertheless thought this was an interesting item to get in a hawker centre.

Other mains available here include the Vongole ($8), Braised Beef ($10), and Sous Vide Pork ($8). Take your pick of these European-style dishes.

If you’re visiting the hawker centre in the morning, you’ll be glad to know that Style Palate has a few breakfast options to choose from. These include the Big Breakfast ($8), featuring meaty sausages alongside fresh greens, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms. There’s also the Rosti w/ Sunny Side ($6), which fans of the Swiss potato pancake dish may enjoy.
