As a relatively big eater myself, I often wish for larger portion sizes whenever I get the chance to savour a high tea set. Swissotel Merchant Court solves that problem for me altogether, as they now have an all-you-can-eat high tea buffet from 1 May onwards, allowing me to eat to my heart’s content.
Located in the Ellenborough Market Cafe restaurant, this buffet will only be available on Saturday and Sunday weekly, ideal for those seeking respite from their stress-filled work week. Going at $48++ per person, you’re given access to an extensive international buffet selection, including their Peranakan, Cantonese, and even local delicacies they have to offer.

Dig into their spread of dim sum, such as the Salted Egg Custard Bun or even the Deep-Fried Fishballs With Nyonya Curry Sauce to fill you up even more.
For those who just can’t bear to part with local food wherever they go, rest assured that this buffet’s also got you covered. With crowd favorites in Nasi Lemak With Sambal Prawn And Egg and Nyonya Laksa beckoning, this is ideal for the select minority who treat high teas as early dinner or late lunch.
Those who adore their highly-acclaimed Peranakan fare can look forward to the Chilli Crab Kueh Pie Tee to start the ball rolling. If not, go for unlimited servings of their Babi Pongteh Kong Bak Bao for a sweet-salty delight.
Those with a sweet tooth, get a load of their variety of local desserts, including an array of durian-infused tidbits. For a refresher, we’d recommend the classic Chendol given the humid weather, but feel free to sip on their warm and hearty Pulut Hitam if it’s more up your alley.
If you prefer individual high tea sets instead, check out our Cedele Afternoon Tea review for rum-spiked tiramisu and soft shell crab sliders at $24++ per person. If not, read our Atrium Lounge High Tea review for wagyu sliders and other Japanese desserts at $38++ per person.
