The Woodleigh Mall has a variety of grab-and-go kiosks

The Bidadari Estate has a lot more happening with the opening of The Woodleigh Mall, a mall that offers a variety of good food, including a handful of casual dining options and grab-and-go kiosks that are perfect for a midday snack.

The next time you’re looking to grab a quick snack at The Woodleigh Mall, check these spots out.

1. QQuo

For fast casual fried Western fare, visit QQuo. They’ve got bites priced from $1.90, or larger set meals perfect for days when you’re looking to dabao because you’re just not in the mood to cook. We highly recommend their Alaska Pollock Fillet ($9.90), which comes with a fried Alaskan pollock cutlet that’s golden brown on the outside, and flaky in the middle. You get to pick either chips or garlic bread as a side.

The meal also comes with a side salad. They’ll also be launching an all-new Cheese Baked Rice ($9.90), so keep your eyes peeled for that.

2. Smooy

Those looking for a sweet treat that isn’t too sinful, pay a visit to Smooy. The kiosk is best known for their frozen yoghurt, which is crafted to have a texture that’s similar to soft-serve ice cream. The brand hails from Spain, where they’re the number one froyo brand. You can choose to DIY your own frozen yoghurt combos, and pick from a wide range of toppings and sauces. They’ve also recently launched a Pink Sauce, which nods to the Barbie movie.

Those looking for something pre-made, get their Twister Cups (from $6.90): these are made like parfaits, and come with curated toppings, from fresh fruits to sweets, and a sauce. Else, cool off on a hot day with any of their smoothies (from $5.90), made with a blend of fresh fruit and froyo.

3. Jian Bo Tiong Bahru Shui Kueh

Michelin Bib Gourmand chwee kueh stall, Jian Bo Tiong Bahru Shui Kueh has a history dating back to 1958, when they were a pushcart stall. They’ve always been a family-run outfit, serving up their freshly made kueh topped with their signature cai poh and sweet sambal.

You can get your fix at their The Woodleigh Mall outlet, where their chwee kueh starts at $3.50 for five pieces, and goes up to $7 for 10. Aside from their signature chwee kueh, the eatery also sells a handful of other small bites, from Steamed Yam Cake (from $3 for two), to assorted fried fritters and kueh priced from $1.50.

4. Mr Bean

Homegrown soya bean and snacks brand, Mr Bean, is a one-stop shop for all your dining needs. Whether you want a quick drink, breakfast, a snack, or a meal, they’ve got you covered. For instance, get a healthier alternative to bubble tea with their Pearly Taro Soy Milk ($3.50), a combination of orh nee-laced soya milk and QQ pearls.

For a comforting dessert, try the 3-in-1 Rice Balls ($3.50), where peanut and sesame tang yuan are served in tau huay. Mr Bean is also very well known for their pancakes, and we’d highly recommend grabbing their Kaya Cheese ($2.20) flavour the next time you want a snack—this hits the right spot between sweet and savoury. Most of their items are vegetarian too!

5. umisushi Teishoku

If you’ve got a Japanese food craving while at The Woodleigh Mall, but don’t have the time for a full-on dine-in meal, swing by umisushi Teishoku. The popular eatery specialises in grab-and-go Japanese bites, from sushi to donburi bowls, bento sets and more. If you’d like to sit in, however, they’ve also got a dine-in menu encompassing sets under $20. For something comforting, try their Sake Nabe ($19.80++), which comes with a hotpot loaded with vegetables and a sweet broth, served with a side of salmon sashimi.

Try their crowd-favourite Tonkatsu Teishoku Set ($16.90++), where a thick and juicy tonkatsu cutlet plays the starring role. Each of these sets comes with rice, soup, sides, and two daifuku mochi pieces for a sweet treat.

Those looking for a comforting meal can order their Beef Noodles with Tendons ($11.90). The sweet, soya sauce-laced noodle soup comes with different cuts of beef, including chewy tendons. If you’re ordering this meal to share, grab some of their house-made Prawn Cakes ($13.90) as well! Aside from dine-in, Time For Thai also offers all their items for takeaway.

The Fresh Mango Pomelo Sago (from $8.10), for example, serves up the popular Hong Kong dessert in a cup, complete with cubes of fresh mango. For something cooling, try their Winter Melon Lemonade (from $4.80), a refreshing thirst quencher that’s available hot or cold. We also love their Signature Yi Fang Fruit Tea (from $5.80), made with a variety of fruit jams and fresh fruit, which you can also order hot or cold.
