The pandemic has inspired many to start their own businesses, and one of which is The Wrap. Hairdresser turned hawker Angela Koh started her own takeaway kiosk in Telok Ayer, selling popiah with fillings including Chinese sausage and chicken floss, along with kueh pie tee with a twist.

All items on the menu are priced at $4.50 each. The Signature Popiah with Chinese Sausage features an assortment of vegetables with slices of Chinese sausage for added sweetness. Each popiah is packed tightly with ingredients, so you’re getting your money’s worth. The filling includes a variety of vegetables such as cabbage, leek, and carrot, making this version slightly healthier than what you would find at most popiah stalls. Alternatively, you can opt for Popiah with Chicken Floss, which replaces Chinese sausage with chicken floss.
Another noteworthy point about the store’s popiah is that it is made with fresh popiah skin. Any leftover popiah skin is used as an additional base for support, so you can eat your popiah without worrying about it falling apart.Â

Other than popiah, the store also sells Kueh Pie Tee, which uses the same popiah fillings with extra diced Chinese sausage and bean sprouts packed into the pie tee shell. If you’re up for something less common, get their limited edition Strawberry Kueh Pie Tee, a refreshing take on the classic snack that comes with added chopped strawberries for a burst of freshness. As this flavor is made in limited quantities, make sure to call in advance to check if it’s available before heading down.
If you’re looking for something heartier and more filling, get their Mee Siam.
