Talk to anyone who used to or is still going to the driving centre at Ubi for lessons, and I promise you will hear nothing but groans and complaints. As if the lessons themselves are not painful enough, the driving centre is pretty inaccessible and there is hardly any good food in that area – or so I thought.
Now that the third stage of the Downtown Line is up, travelling to Ubi is much less of a chore. If you are still attending driving lessons there or simply passing by Ubi MRT Station, we have uncovered 10 food places near the station for you to check out!
Found at a corner of L32 CoffeeShop at Ubi Avenue 1, Mr Prawnie is a popular hawker stall known for their atas fried Hokkien mee. Although they do serve the typical plate of Fried Hokkien Mee ($5/$8), you should give their Seafood Platter & Lobster ($42) a shot if you are with a group of friends! With its gigantic portion enough to serve three to four people, the fried Hokkien mee comes with prawns, lobster, lala, and crayfish. For something less crazy, Mr Prawnie also serves smaller portions of atas fried Hokkien mee, such as their Lobster Set ($24.90) and Flower Crab Hokkien Mee ($20).
