Udders Novena Reopens With Vibey Interiors And Limited Edition Milo Ice Cream

Udders reopens their Novena outlet

As a local ice cream brand that has been around for almost 20 years, Udders needs little introduction. It’s always a delight to enter their brightly lit cafes and appreciate the unique interior design of each outlet. Recently, Udders renovated the Novena outlet, and their new space is adorned with the iconic shade of orange. Here comes the best part: you can spot a new Udders logo right smack in the middle of the cafe.

You can still find the usual ice cream flavours here, such as their famous Strawberry Fields ($5.80 for a single scoop). This one is made with fresh strawberries that are crushed and mixed into the ice cream, and you can taste the natural tanginess of the fruit.

We got our ice cream with their Signature Crisy Waffle ($6). This came warm and tasted even better after being soaked in the ice cream.

Their Kueh Salat ($5.80 for a single scoop) flavour is a great pick if you enjoy more texture in your dessert. This one had chunks of kueh and a rich coconut flavour.

Here’s something unique: Udders’ selection of alcoholic ice cream is one of the widest I have seen across several ice cream stores. The flavours include Cereal Killer and Tipsy Cookies, both priced at $5.80 per scoop. The former flavour has cornflakes and bourbon, while the latter is essentially cookies and cream spiked with rice wine.

There’s something for durian lovers too! Their Emperor Mao ($10.80 for a single scoop) is the most expensive flavour out of the lot. We were told that the Mao Shan Wang used were hand-picked from an orchid in Pahang. This one had a really good balance of creamy durian and milky ice cream—the pungent flavour of the durian filled my mouth as I was eating this, so here’s a word of caution: get this only if you like durian.

You can book ice cream workshops at all outlets except the one at Beach Road. The workshop was insightful—for instance, we learnt the difference between a sherbet and a sorbet! The former has milk, while the latter does not. We also had fun making ice cream from scratch by shaking a bag of cream in a pack of ice.

After the hands-on activity, you can indulge in an hour of all-you-can-eat ice cream buffet. You can refer to their website to find out more.
