There are many yakiniku restaurants in Singapore, including affordable and halal-friendly options such as Yakiniku Shokudo at IMM. If you reside in the Lorong Chuan or Serangoon locale, you might be familiar with Yak Kin, which claims to be the first Thai-Japanese yakiniku joint in Singapore.

The cosy restaurant is nestled in the quiet estate of Jalan Riang, a short 10-minute walk from Lorong Chuan MRT Station.

Tuck into grilled meats, seafood, and veggies, served along sides and dips created with Thai and Japanese influences. There are sets that feed a party of two to three diners; a popular pick is the Buta Set ($42.80++), which comes with thick bacon steak, pork jowl, pork collar, and Thai-style pork neck.

Thai food fans who love their Moo Ping can also get Yak Kin’s version at $3.80++ per stick.

The best part is the restaurant is open till 1am, so you can jio your supper kakis down for a late-night yakiniku feast!
